Maybelline Colorsensational The Jewels Pink Tourmaline Lipstick Review

I am back with another review, a lipstick from Maybelline called as Pink Tourmaline. I never owned a proper lipstick from Maybelline (I was amazed when I checked my stash!) I bought some ColorShow ones which broke and I had to throw them away. On that note, I purchased this gorgeous lipstick. Check out more details about it.

My Take on Maybelline Colorsensational The Jewels Pink Tourmaline Lipstick:

Packaging: These lipsticks sell themselves just by the packaging I guess. It is a gorgeous pink tube that has a pretty rainbow like design which is an eye candy. The pink cap complements with the gorgeous silver tube that twists up and forth with ease. The cap fits sturdily in place, it’s pretty much travel friendly.

Shade: Pink Tourmaline is a lovely coral-pink shade with very fine silver shimmer. In broad daylight, it looks like a pink with coral tones. Under artificial light, it looks like a reddish pink. It gives a frosty finish which I felt is not over the top. Though the shimmers sure are a turn off for me!

Pigmentation: Initially, I was about to go for the shade “Red Garnet.” But I felt I could not carry it and chose this one instead. This shade is not immensely pigmented. It is mostly on the sheer side. Multiple swipes might give coverage for pigmented lips, but that will lead to the shimmers giving a bad frosty look.

Texture and Lasting Power:  The texture is superbly smooth, but I cannot call it creamy. Shimmery lipsticks are not always creamy, even though they go smooth. Exfoliation is needed even though the texture is great. It is not very moisturizing, but at the end of the day, it did not leave my lips dry. The shimmers tend to settle in fine lines and sometimes make the lipstick bleed too. It lasts for around 2.5 hours after which it fades away leaving behind shimmers all over. Lasting power could have been better. It hardly survives any meal, but it does not transfer crazily.

Lastly, this was not a disappointing buy even though I still feel I should have bought the Red Garnet one 😀 This will always be there when it comes to buying lipsticks 😀

• The shimmers tend to settle into fine lines.
• Shimmers get left behind after the color fades.

Do I Recommend Maybelline Colorsensational The Jewels Pink Tourmaline Lipstick?

This is a subtle pink shade which most of you would love. Those who are not a fan of frosty lipsticks can skip this. I would buy other shades in this range as they’re quite impressive.
