After trying out the Rose Rush shade from the Maybelline Color Sensational Rebel Bloom range, I decided to try out some more shades. One of the shades that I picked up is Coral Burst. Read on to find out if I liked it or not.

My Take on Maybelline Coral Burst Color Sensational Rebel Bloom Lipstick:
Packaging: This lipstick comes in the standard “Color Sensational” lipstick packaging – a sleek metallic tube with a rectangular cap. The “Rebel Bloom” range has a bright mauve-y pink cap. The sticker at the bottom of the tube is color coded to help identify the lipstick if you have multiple of these lipsticks. The packaging is sturdy and looks classy.
Shade: Coral Burst as the name suggests is truly a burst of coral on the lips. The color looked quite intimidating in the bullet and I was a bit worried that it would look neon-ish on the lips. But I absolutely love that this lipsticks translates into the most gorgeous shade of coral on the lips. In fact, it is quite subtle for a coral and can be even worn to work. This is surely going to be my go-to color this spring season.
Texture, Finish, Pigmentation: The texture of the lipstick is very balm-like. It glides well on the lips unlike the shade Rose Rush from the same range. It doesn’t feel drying on the lips. The finish of the lipstick is a satiny glossy finish.
The lipstick is decently pigmented and one swipe is enough to cover even pigmented lips. You will need multiple swipes if you need a more intense color payoff. However, in general, the lipsticks from this range apply a bit sheer – they are somewhere in between a crème satin finish lipstick and a tinted lip balm. This might be a boon for those who are hesitant to sport a bright coral on their lips.
The staying power of the lipstick is average – it stays put for around 3-4 hours. It transfers to cups and glasses and does not survive a full meal. But it leaves a lovely stain behind.
To summarize, the Maybelline Color Sensational Rebel Bloom in Coral Burst is a true coral color with a glossy finish and a decent formula at an affordable price.

If you are on the lookout for a coral lipstick with a not-so-deep pigmentation at an affordable price, you can purchase this. I would not repurchase the exact shade, but I already have other shades from this range 🙂
