Maybelline Dream Nude Airfoam Foundation Review

Maybelline Dream Nude Airfoam Foundation Review

I purchased this foundation about 10 months ago as I was attracted by the claims which said that this foundation will be lightweight because it was air infused.  I bought this from Priceline and the shade “Sun Beige” in this range matched me perfectly (NC42-44).  This is actually the first foundation I have tried from Maybelline.

Product Description:

Our most lightweight foundation for 100% nude perfection.  Lightweight foam for a flawless finish.  Ideal for normal skin.

  • Lightweight foam foundation.
  • Releases refined pigments pre-dispersed in air for effortless application and 100% nude perfection.
  • SPF 16.
  • Ideal for normal skin.
  • Doesn’t clog pores.

Directions For Use:

Before first application, practice using the dispenser by shaking the can and applying a small amount of product to a tissue.  Shake can well before use and remove cap. Hold can upright and press lightly to dispense a walnut-sized amount of product onto back of hand. Take small dabs of product from hand.  Apply to face one section at a time, blending with short circular motions.

My Experience with Maybelline Dream Nude Airfoam Foundation:

I usually check reviews before buying products, but with this one I didn’t.  I have combination skin with dryness around my lips. Other than that, I do not have any blemishes/redness on my skin, so I have never used a concealer.  I also like lightweight foundations and use my MAC Studio Fix for special occasions. I stick to BB creams or tinted moisturisers for everyday wear. I checked out the shades and purchased Sun Beige as it was an exact match for my skin tone.

This product comes in a can, much like a deodorant can. If you press on the dispenser once, the amount of the product which comes out is enough to cover my face and another press for the neck and décolleté area. The product comes out in an air-infused form with air bubbles inside. You have to be careful when pressing the nozzle because if you press too hard, too much of product will come out.

I have used my fingers as well as a brush to apply this foundation, but unlike other foundations, I feel this product has to be blended quickly, otherwise it will dry before blending.  Also because of the consistency, it is really important to blend well, otherwise lines and streaks can be seen. I have used this product without primer because I felt this product was too airy and light to use it on top of a primer. This made my skin feel very tight especially around my lips. The foundation did not make me feel greasy at all, even after 5-6 hours and the coverage which was light to medium lasted the whole day. The look was natural and gave me a very light feel. Also, SPF 18 is an added bonus.

Pros of Maybelline Dream Nude Airfoam Foundation:

  • Gives a light, natural look for blemish-free skin.
  • Contains SPF 18.
  • One pump is enough each time and will last you a long time.
  • Reasonably priced.
  • Travel friendly as the can has a tight lid and is lightweight.

Cons of Maybelline Dream Nude Airfoam Foundation:

  • This provides only light to medium coverage, so if you have marks or want a full coverage, this is not for you.
  • Makes skin feel tighter in some areas, almost like having a mud pack on.
  • Not water resistant.
  • I found my shade, but this does not cover a whole range of shades.

IMBB Rating:

3/5.

Will I Repurchase Maybelline Dream Nude Airfoam Foundation?

I bought this quite a while back and have found better foundations since then. This is just an okay product in my opinion as even though it feels light on my skin, it makes my skin feel tight too.
