After reviewing the Maybelline Superstay Foundation which was not all that great, I am today reviewing another foundation from Maybelline– the Maybelline Dream Velvet Soft-Matte Hydrating foundation in shade Nude. Read on to find out how this fared on me.

My Experience with Maybelline Dream Velvet Soft-Matte Hydrating Foundation:
Packaging: The foundation comes in a cream-colored squeeze tube packaging with a screw-on cap. It is a simple, easy-to-use and travel-friendly packaging. However, the tube is fully opaque and that is a disadvantage as you can only guess the color of the foundation while shopping. Also, you cannot know how much of the product is left.
Texture/Finish/Lasting Power: The foundation has a soft mousse-like texture. It is quite lightweight and blends easily into the skin. It feels moisturizing on the skin, but at the same time, it settles down to a lovely matte finish. I have combination skin with oily T-zone and slightly dry cheeks. The foundation does not cling to the dry areas of my cheeks, nor does it make my T-zone oily. I would say this is a foundation which would suit both oily as well as dry skin.
The foundation easily blurs large pores and fine lines and provides an even smooth canvas for other makeup. It brightens up the face and does not look unnatural. The coverage is medium but easily buildable and does not feel cake-y. The foundation has a good staying power and lasts for around 6-7 hours.
The foundation comes in 12 different shades and hence it should be possible for everyone to find a match for their skin tone.
Overall, I am quite impressed with this foundation as it feels quite natural and provides a second-skin type of feel.

I would surely recommend this foundation if you are on the lookout for drugstore foundations. I would consider repurchasing if I finish this tube.
