With some eyeshadows, we have to choose the colours and make decisions regarding what goes on the eyes while some come tailor made with perfect colour combinations to make our lives easier. I recently came across one such palette and today’s review is about Maybelline Eye Studio Big Eyes Light Catching Palette in the shade Luminous Grass. Read on to know more.

How to Apply:
1. Apply light-catching primer in a C shape around the eye, starting beneath the brow and down above the cheekbone
2. Sweep base shade on lid
3. Apply the highlight shade on the inner corner of the eye
4. Contour around the crease then blend

My Experience with Maybelline Eye Studio Big Eyes Light Catching Palette Luminous Grass:
I had purchased Maybelline Luminous Brown Eye Studio Big Eyes Light Catching Palette almost a year ago. At that time I had zero ideas that I would be buying a new one as I have already invested in bigger palettes and have better options. Recently, on one of my shopping sprees, I came across the product again and it was only then I realised that I do not have a green eyeshadow in my collection. Plus, I loved the combination. Hence, I decided to buy it.
The 4 eyeshadow palette comes in a plastic transparent packaging. The plastic cap is delicate and can break easily. For the price, I wish it came with a mirror. The product is plastic sealed. Even though the product closes with a click, it can break quickly. My old one broke with a drop, so it must be handled with care. Overall, the product is sleek but very delicate. I have never been a fan of the abstract design. With the old one, I have a complete mismatch of the colours. The primer stays for long but other colours finish off soon.
Luminous green is a palette with the green and gold combination. The shades are a perfect combination when you opt for a green-gold saree. The shades are all shimmery and, of course, add a shine on your eyes. The colours have a powdery texture, are very soft and give a smooth finish. The centre white remains the same and the other colours change in the luminous palettes. The colours do not have a name and I have numbered the shades and the details of the shades are as below:
Shade 1: This is a light parrot green and the shade is really good. It has to be built up for the shade to show up properly.
Shade 2: This is a golden shade. The colour looks like a faded silk saree with golden weave. It has a yellow hue and is a very pretty shade and can also be used as a highlighter for a beautiful golden glow. It can also be used to build up for a beautiful golden shimmer.
Shade 3: This is a shade that is of zero use for me. The colour really does not show up on my skin. It is similar to my skin tone and I am not a fan of this shade. The browns in the luminous range have been made keeping the fair skin tone in mind and are not suitable for medium-dark skin tones.
Shade 4: This is primarily a luminizer and opens up the eyes. It is used to enhance the other colours and make them look brighter. It is a perfect highlighter and can also be used on the cheeks to highlight your cheekbones. The colour is shimmery and is silver in colour.
When all the shades are combined together, they make a beautiful combination of colours. The colours are great and have good pigmentation. The colours have a powdery texture but there is very little fall out. The colours stay for long and they stay for approximately 6 hours. There is little fading after that. The colours are also suitable for oily lids and don’t settle around the crease. The shades are creamy but easily blendable. The colours do not cause any irritation to the eye. I have used these shadows on my waterline and haven’t had any issues. So overall, it is a good palette.

Cons of Maybelline Eye Studio Big Eyes Light Catching Palette Luminous Grass:
• The palette is a little pricey.
• The brown shade is very close to my skin tone and plays no part.
• The abstract design makes the quantity to vary.

I think I am done with this luminous range. I might not buy it again but I definitely recommend it.
