Bold and bright lip colours are right up my alley. So when I got a chance to try out the Maybelline Vivid Matte Liquid Lip Colour, I did pick up a few shades. Today the shade I am going to talk about is Maybelline Vivid Matte Liquid Lip Colour in Possessed Plum. Let’s have a look.

My Experience with Maybelline Possessed Plum Color Sensational Vivid Matte Liquid Lip Colour:

Packaging: The Maybelline Vivid Matte Liquid Lip Colour comes in a square plastic tube which is clear and is hence colour coded to the shade of the lip stick. The tube does not come wrapped in a protective plastic paper which does not assure hygiene. The cap of the tube is black contains a flat sponge tip application wand.

Colour: “Possessed Plum” is a beautiful warm toned bright vampy maroon-ish shade with a tinge of dark brown. This shade is absolutely pretty and bold thus cannot be preferred for usage on a daily basis. I am pretty sure that if you like vampy lipsticks, you are definitely going to like this shade. This shade will suit most Indian skin tones I believe.

Pigmentation: This lip cream is intensely pigmented and delivers full colour pay-off in just one swipe on the hand. But while applying on the lips, the application is a bit streaky in the first swipe and it needs some more to cover that up for an even application. The shade gives enough coverage to hide pigmented lips as well.

Texture: The texture of this lip colour is super creamy and feels very buttery like cake frosting. This baby is not as watery or drying as standard liquid lipsticks and also does not contain any shimmers or shine. They are ideally supposed to be matte, but even after a few minutes of application, it does not dry completely, but remains creamy. Hence I prefer topping it off with translucent powder to mattify and prevent any transfer of lip product.

Longevity: The staying power of this lippie is around 4-5 hours after which it starts fading unevenly. If you want to wear this lippie for the whole day, you need to have this baby handy for re-application; else it will give a shabby look to the lips. Since it does not dry down completely, it does transfer to cups and mugs.

• Average pigmentation.
• Applies streaky in one swipe.
• Not waterproof.
• Not available in India.

Will I Recommend/Repurchase Maybelline Possessed Plum Color Sensational Vivid Matte Liquid Lip Colour?
I will sure recommend the Maybelline Vivid Matte Liquid Lip Colour range to liquid lipstick lovers, but not this shade. This shade just needs to much effort and time to apply o the lips and yet does not give an even finish. I would suggest you to skip this shade and instead try out some colours from this range!
