Today, I am reviewing the Maybelline Superstay Better Skin foundation which has been around in the market now for quite some time. I started using it sometime last year; read on to find out how this fared on me.

My Experience with Maybelline Superstay Better Skin Skin-Transforming Foundation:
Packaging: The foundation comes in a rectangular glass bottle with a transparent cap. The bottle is transparent and that can help in identifying the color of the foundation or knowing how much of the product is left. It has a pump mechanism which is quite convenient and hygienic to use. I personally did not like the packaging so much as it feels a bit bulky and hence is not travel friendly.
Texture/Finish/Lasting Power: The foundation has a slightly thick cream-like consistency. It feels quite creamy on the skin and needs a little effort to blend. It is not one of those lightweight foundations but instead feels slightly heavy on the skin.
The coverage is medium and manages to provide an even skin tone. The coverage is surely buildable, but it starts to look slightly cake-y. The foundation does not provide full coverage and you would need a concealer for any heavy skin imperfections.
The finish seems a bit dewy when you apply, but it soon settles to a matte finish. The foundation has an average staying power and lasts for around 5-6 hours. I noticed that this foundation rubs off a bit especially in the heat and you would need to set it with a powder.
Overall, I am not overtly impressed with this foundation as it feels a bit heavy and there are better foundations out in the market – surely not “skin transforming” as advertised.
Pros of Maybelline Superstay Better Skin Skin-Transforming Foundation:
- Lovely matte finish.
- Provides medium coverage.
- Good staying power.
Cons of Maybelline Superstay Better Skin Skin-Transforming Foundation:
- The foundation feels slightly heavy.
- Does not provide full coverage.
- Starts to feel cake-y when layered.
- The foundation tends to rub off if not set with a powder.
