I think Maybelline Watershine Lipstick is discontinued at some parts of the world. Well! Why am I not surprised. I got Maybelline Watershine lipstick some 3 months back and here’s what I think about it.
Price : Rs 220 (Indian Rupees)
Shade I purchased : Mochaccino ( a light brown colour)
What is Maybelline Watershine Lipstick ?
It is a sheer lip color, which will give you just a hint of colour on your lips. It is somewhat similar to gloss just a little less shiny.
Why should you buy Maybelline Watershine Lipstick ?
- If you like just a hint of colour on your lips, this could be your take. It is more like a lip tint, just in lipstick form.
- It has a fresh cucumber kind of flavour. I find it quite refreshing and nice.
- It is quite moisturizing.
- It works great as a subtle gloss.
- It is inexpensive.

Why should you NOT buy Maybelline Watershine Lipstick ?
- The biggest drawback is that it has a poor staying power. I mean you apply this lipstick, you open your mouth to whisper sweet nothings in your hubby’s ears and it’s gone. Your lips would have nothing on them. I have no clue where it disappears but this lipstick has some magical powers.
A complete fail for me. - The packaging is quite outdated.

Sometimes when the pinks look well! too pink on me. , I apply this shade on top and it brings the perfect colour for my complexion. Mostly I pair this with my Revlon Matte lipstick and the two combined together create an excellent shade to suit my skin tone.

I have used the watershine gloss.. And I know what you mean my magical powers.. It just goes away….
But I am totally in love with their Moisture extreme range. They have some amazing colours and I found the perfect ‘red’ in it… Loving it sooo…
would you believe that the staying power of gloss is better than this lipstick.

On my lips not even a tint would stay, I have power of eating lipsticks..no wonder why I gain weight every time I do my makeup :p
I think I had one in shocking pink and I gave it to mom for staying power problem.but I loved how it looked on my lips.:)
Exactly the same. It looks good on lips and it vanishes at the count of 20 lol!! Crap!! I also eat lipsticks. No wonder I don’t see a drastic change in my figure even after successfully dieting for 4 days.

Rati, I have mochaccino too and I mostly use it when i’m indoors, gives me a subtle but fresh look. And this way i can keep reapplying it lol! also goes well on top of some of my other shades..
Mrunmayee..you are lucky to find your perfect red. Love moisture extreme too…I’m not yet sure if I can carry red though..so haven’t started looking

Actually you know it lived up to its name. It gives a water kind of shine and disappears as quickly if you would apply water on your lips.
I haven’t tried this product at all..Thanks for the review Rati. If not, I might have given a try, considering my love affair with the moisture extreme lippies
Btw, has anyone tried Liquid Diamonds? I used it about a year or two back and found them not staying at all. After some time, only the glitter part remains..yikes. Needs constant re application.
I hav tried liquid diamonds during my college yers. I used to love them so so much. During college days you don’t worry too much about lipstick staying on your lips or not, you just like the fun of applying some makeup.
I ahve had a ball with liquid diamonds lippy but don’t use it now.

Is this Watershine Pure too? I have WP which comes in a bluish grey packaging n like it a lot except the shine doesn’t stay for long. But I’ll still buy more if they were available here.

I had mate gelado-ice tea from maybelline watershine. I loved the colour of it and like you said it was very subtle but not for long stay purpose. And it gives u the look of a lip gloss and the colour doesnt stand out. Right now i’m hunting for a replacement in the same colour but cant seem to find it here in US. Not many colours suit because I have a dark complexion and am petrified of buying cosmetics without trying. To add to this, no testers here
A couple I tried were not so subtle as I would have wanted and I’m still on the hunt !!

I have this in sweet wine shade n love the way it looks on my lips! But as you said zilch staying power!!
