My Experience with Maybelline Wooden Rose Color Show Blush:

The blush comes in black-colored plastic pan with a clear lid bearing the brand’s tag line. The packaging is same as that of other color show blushes available in India. The base of the pan bears a label indicating the shade name and other product-related information like its shelf life, etc.

The pan closes nicely with a clear flip top cap that shuts tightly making an audible click making it fit for carrying around. Overall, the packaging is nice and travel friendly, but I wish they had provided a mirror and an applicator with this packaging.

The blush comes in four variants namely – Fresh Coral, Wooden Rose, Creamy Cinnamon and Peachy Sweetie. The shade that I had picked up is called “Wooden Rose.” It is a n*de pink kind of shade with loads of golden micro shimmers in it. These shimmers are finely milled into the blush giving it a gorgeous subtle gold glow.

The blush is not very good in terms of pigmentation, which I had not expected from this brand. The shade is way too pale for Indian skin tones and it needs to be layered on and on to make the color pop.

Due to low pigmentation, it takes more than 5-6 swipes to show the color on my cheeks nicely. The shade is suitable for very fair to medium fair skin tones only. Once the blush is properly applied on the skin, it gives a gorgeous flush of color to my cheeks. The shimmers in the blush are non chunky and add glow to the cheeks, but this shimmery finish makes it unsuitable for daytime use, but this blush is apt for evening time wear and parties only.

The texture of the blush is soft and smooth, which glides on the skin smoothly and it is very easy to blend. The formula is not powdery and does not have that messy fall out issues. It does not emphasize my skin pores and dry patches. My skin looks pretty healthy and with this blush on my cheeks. I love the texture of this blush. I have pretty oily skin and this blush suits my skin well and keeps it perfectly oil free.

The lasting power of the blush is average. It lasts for some 3-4 hours only as it is quite low in terms of pigmentation. Once, the color is gone, the shimmers look prominent on the cheeks. Overall, I feel the other three variants available are better suitable for Indian skin tones.

Pros of Maybelline Wooden Rose Color Show Blush:

  • Pretty packaging.
  • Apt for fair skin tones only.
  • Smooth texture.
  • Easy to blend.
  • Non-powdery formula.
  • No fallout.
  • Does not highlight dry patches or pores on the skin.
  • Average staying power.

Cons of Maybelline Wooden Rose Color Show Blush:

  • No mirror or applicator provided.
  • Not fit for day time use.
  • Low pigmentation.
  • Requires too many swipes to show the color.

3.5/5
