“Mesotherapy,” a term that I came across while reading some articles related to weight loss, hair loss and skin problems, caught my attention because of its diverse points of interest. Curious that I was to find out the various aspects associated with mesotherapy, I rummaged across various information websites and read extensively regarding the same. Today, let me share those pieces of information, in a comprehensive way, in this article of mine, which is definitely, another of my research articles.

1. What is mesotherapy?

It is a medical specialty and a cosmetic treatment, which is non surgical in nature and it aims to reduce extra weight, localized fat deposits and cellulite problems. It is also effective in such areas as body contouring, skin rejuvenation, pain reduction and even in replenishing loss of hair.

Mesotherapy is known to be administered by means of injections, containing approved vitamins, natural extracts, minerals, pharmaceuticals and medicines, injected into the mesoderm. The mixture of ingredients tends to vary according to the case and individual on whom the treatment is to be meted out.

3. What are the conditions that mesotherapy can treat?

Mesotherapy treats a variety of conditions like cellulite, acnes, ageing symptoms, scars, hair problems. Here is a brief overview:

  • Reduction of fat: The number of procedures and injections might vary depending upon the problem areas, but usually, it takes at least two to four treatments to be meted out at a gap of two to four weeks.
  • Cellulite

  • Reduction of cellulite: Three to four treatments are needed, approximately at a gap of three to four weeks. It is best for mild degrees of cellulite problems.
  • Spot reduction: This treatment focuses mainly on problems like love handles and double chins among other similar issues.
  • Skin rejuvenation: The target area can be face, arms, thighs and such other parts of the body. It is done to bring about a considerable amount of improvement in the appearance of the skin.
  • Hair re-growth: Mesotherapy is being used to treat hair loss and hair thinning problems. It is used to boost hair re-growth. Whether it is male pattern baldness or alopecia, mesotherapy is known to be effective in both! Through micro-injections, vitamins and minerals are replaced, blood flow is increased and hair follicles are revived.

  • Anti-ageing issues: ย It helps to prevent the formation of wrinkles and if one wishes to do that, mesotherapy is recommended in mid-twenties and early-thirties. Elastin and collagen production is stimulated. Mesotherapy can also treat them once the signs of aging have started to show on the skin.

Mesotherapy is non-surgical in nature and is supposed to be a great alternative to cosmetic surgeries. It is claimed to be a safe procedure and when compared to liposuction, it is perhaps cheaper. The time need to recover is shorter. It can deal with unwanted problems like cellulite, extra weight, hair loss, ageing skin and such others, which have been mentioned already.

5. What are the side-effects associated with mesotherapy?

  • Burning sensation and pain.
  • Bruising and swelling around of injected areas.

Though Mesotherapy in being used, quite in vogue, there are certain things which need to be kept in mind:

  • The long term effects of mesotherapy on human body are not studied.
  • There are uncertainties regarding the proportion of mesotherapy ingredients being injected.
  • Though the cost tends to vary, it can be quite expensive in certain cases.
  • There is lack of standard scientific evidence.
  • It is always better to keep your expectations on a realistic plane.
  • Discuss your plans with to your home physician before deciding on the treatment.

  5. Women are considered to be as soft as flower cant withstand even winds blow but now-a-days they are grown/ brought-up strong to withstand, waxing, threading, injection/surgery just for beauty. ๐Ÿ™‚
