Today, I am reviewing a lipstick which has been around for some time, but I picked this shade only recently. I am talking about the Milani Color Statement Moisture Matte lipstick in the shade “Confident.” Quite a few shades from this range have been already reviewed on IMBB (Flamingo Pose, Uptown Mauve, Matte Iconic, Orchid Moisture). My Experience with Milani Matte Confident Color Statement Moisture Matte Lipstick:
Packaging: This lipstick comes in a beautiful gold packaging with a band at the bottom matching the color of the lipstick.
The cap shuts tight and there is no danger of the cap coming off loose even if you toss it around in your bag. Even though the packaging is quite simple, it looks classy and doesn’t feel flimsy at all.
Shade: “Matte Confident” is a gorgeous deep maroon red shade. It is a warm shade which will suit most Indian skin tones and will look especially good with Indian traditional dresses.
The pigmentation of the lipstick is quite strong. One swipe is enough to get a lovely opaque finish. Multiple swipes does not make the application patchy.
Texture/Finish/Pigmentation: Even though this is a matte lipstick, it is quite creamy and applies very easily. There is no tug at all and the lipstick glides smoothly over the lips. The finish of the lipstick is a gorgeous matte. It is not a flat, dull-looking matte. Instead, it has a slight sheen which adds a little dimension to the finish.
The lipstick does not feel drying but it is not overly moisturizing either. It does not cling to any dry patches and I do not use any lip balm underneath. I would still recommend exfoliation of the lips prior to the lipstick application for a more even finish.
The matte formula makes the lipstick stay long – it stays on for around 5-6 hrs with light meals. It leaves a slight stain behind.

I would surely recommend you to try out this lipstick if you like matte red lipsticks. I will not repurchase the exact same shade but do possess other shades from this range.
