Today I am reviewing the Milani Color Statement Moisture Matte Lipstick in the shade Matte Diva. I wanted to get something from the mauvey berry side of things, so got this one. Read on to know what I feel about it. 🙂

Application:
Begin applying from the center of your upper lips and work your way to the outer edges. Same application is used for your bottom lips.

Tip: Lipliner helps extend the wear & keeps your lipstick from feathering. When choosing a lipliner shade, match the lipliner to your lipstick shade or match your lipliner to the shade of your lips which will work with all your lipstick shades. Create a custom lipcolor by using a contrasting lipliner and lipstick shade.

My Experience with Milani Matte Diva Color Statement Moisture Matte Lipstick:

The lipstick comes in a traditional bullet packaging, the colour of the lipstick case is the shade indicated at the bottom. Otherwise, it comes in a beautiful gold packaging. It looks very expensive and doesn’t feel like a $6 lippie at all. It has Milani written on the cap and it clicks shut tightly. I am a huge fan of this packaging.

The lipstick is very buttery to touch and glides when I swatch on my hands. It is a creamy to matte finish with no sparkle or shimmer. When I apply, it smooths right on, but some shades settle into lines if I don’t exfoliate before applying it. It does not moisturize/dry out my lips. I don’t need a lip balm or anything and my lips don’t crave for moisture. I love the way it feels and it is one of the most comfortable lipsticks I have ever tried.

The lipstick does not have the weird melon-like smell from the original range. These don’t have any taste/smell to them which I don’t miss, but I wasn’t bothered too much either.

The shade is called “Matte Diva”. Milani describes it as Matte Poppy Hot Pink. I think that is dead on. It is a bright, hot pink and this shade is a definite head turner. Be prepared for attention, and lots of it when you put this on. It definitely leans cool, but I love wearing both warm and cool colours. It almost leans toward a blueish-purple on me. I am absolutely in love with this stunner from Milani.

Overall, a good collection from a trusty brand, Milani. There are loads of great shades in this collection. Do check them out. It’s really easy on the pocket too.
