Milani Color Statement lipsticks are not new and have been around for a while and a few shades have been already reviewed on IMBB ( “Darling”, “Passion” , “Iconic,” etc). I recently picked up a few more shades from this range and today, I am reviewing the shade “Matte Love” for you. Read on to find out more about this shade.

My Experience with Milani Matte Love Color Statement Moisture Matte Lipstick:
Packaging: This lipstick comes in a beautiful gold packaging with a band at the bottom matching the color of the lipstick. The cap shuts tight and there is no danger of the cap coming off loose even if you toss it around in your bag. The packaging is pretty simple, but it looks classy and does not look like a 6 dollars lipstick at all.
Shade: In the bullet, “Matte Love” actually looks very similar to another shade from this range – “Matte Flirty.” Matte Love leans more towards burgundy while Matte Flirty is a more berry shade. Both the shades are gorgeous and apt for the Fall season. The shade is a little too dark for every day office wear but it is a lovely shade nevertheless. Also, it is a shade which will look good on all skin tones.
The pigmentation of the lipstick is decent, but two swipes are needed to get an even and opaque finish. This shade is not very strongly pigmented and you do not get a full-blown color even after multiple swipes and the finish remains slightly sheer. Multiple swipes do not make the application patchy.
Texture/Finish/Pigmentation: The texture of the lipstick is quite creamy. It applies effortlessly and there is no tugging at all. The finish of the lipstick is matte but it has a slight sheen to it which prevents it from looking flat.
The lipstick does not feel particularly drying, but it is not moisturizing either. It has a tendency to cling on to dry patches and hence exfoliation of lips prior to application is strongly recommended. It also accentuates lip lines.
The matte formula makes the lipstick stay long, it does transfer, but manages to stay on for around 5-6 hours with light meals. The lipstick fades evenly.
This lipstick has a mild vanilla smell which I find quite pleasant. It does not stay for too long and hence should not be a matter of concern to sensitive noses.
Pros of Milani Matte Love Color Statement Moisture Matte Lipstick:
- Gorgeous burgundy shade.
- Creamy texture.
- Nice matte finish.
- Good staying power – around 5-6 hours.
- Classy packaging.
- Very affordable.
Cons of Milani Matte Love Color Statement Moisture Matte Lipstick:
- Not very strong pigmentation.
- Lipstick clings to dry patches.
- Accentuates lip lines.
- This particular shade might be too dark for some.

Would I Repurchase/Recommend Milani Matte Love Color Statement Moisture Matte Lipstick?
I would not recommend this particular shade as the pigmentation is not that impressive. I will not repurchase the exact same shade but do possess other shades from this range.
