Milani Shadow Eyez Eyeshadow Pencil – Almond Cream Review

Milani Shadow Eyez Eyeshadow Pencil – Almond Cream Review

Hello all you wonderful gorgeous ladies,

I am back with another review for you all. I know I have been slacking with them, but I am trying to get back on track with them, so bear with me and I promise I will have loads of review treats for you in the coming days. Today’s review will be on the Milani Shadow Eyez 12 Hour Eyeshadow Stick in shade “Almond Cream.”

Milani Shadow Eyez Eyeshadow Pencil

Product Description:

One pencil, multiple eye-catching ways to use it. A shadow, liner and highlighter in one, it’s water-resistant and crease-proof – two stellar qualities in an eye makeup product! Sharpened to a fine point, it defines. Softly smudged, it adds color – 12 shades in all, from neutrals to brights. Swept under the brow bone in one of the paler hues, it catches the light. Clearly, this pencil is as versatile as it is beautiful.

Application:

Apply the pencil directly to the eyelid, then blend it out with your finger or a brush. After use, always replace the cap so the tip does not dry out. Easily sharpens with Milani’s Duo Sharpener.

Tip:

To extend the wear, apply your pressed powder on entire eyelid before applying your eye shadow. This eliminates any oils your lids may have which can cause your eyeshadow to crease.

My Experience with Milani Shadow Eyez Eyeshadow Pencil – Almond Cream:

I heard this product being raved about on YouTube, hence I decided to buy it. In theory, it was everything I was looking for and I am pleased to say this product delivered and lived up to my expectations.

Packaging:

A pretty simple pencil format with a secure see-through cap attached to it. The only thing I don’t like about this product and which applies to all my makeup products is the need to sharpen it, which creates lots of wastage, but if you overlook that, this product is pretty much perfect.

Texture/Shade:

The shade “Almond Cream” as the name suggests is a very light peachy cream shade. It has a completely matte finish and is also very pigmented. I love using this as my eye shadow base as it is the perfect color to neutralize the darkness and the veins showing on my eye lid and make a perfect canvas for color eyeshadows placed over it to pop. I also love wearing just this on its own on my eyelids and along with some kohl and mascara and my eyes look put together.

The texture is pretty smooth and blends super easily. It dries down to cream to powder finish and doesn’t feel sticky or greasy at all. It still has a slight bit of tackiness which is a good thing as it makes the eye shadows layered over it to adhere and stay put all day without creasing. I have oily eyelids and sometimes this makes the staying power of eye shadows suffer, but when I use this as a base, I almost feel like it absorbs some of that oil hence keeping my eyelids dry. Staying power of my eye makeup with this base is 6-7 hours.

You can also use this on waterline. A lot of beauty gurus swear by the trick of using a n*de pencil on the waterline to widen up the eyes and make you look awake. I tried this trick with this pencil and even though the color applies smoothly and easily with no tugging at all, I am not a fan of that look as it makes my eyes look kind of unnatural. So I will stick to black kohl for eyes and use this only as something to apply on eyelids. You can also use this shade to highlight your inner eye corners and a brow bone highlight and maybe even as a spot concealer. With such a versatile, universal shade, the possibilities are endless. So yes, I will definitely recommend this product.
