Missha Caviar and Tea Tree Pure Source Sheet Masks Review

Hello lovelies,

Hope you are having a wonderful day. Missha is a Korean brand and is quite popular, so I thought to give it a go when I saw their sheet masks. I have heard they have the best BB cream of all Korean and Japanese brands. So, I was very excited to try their products. I am reviewing “Caviar” and “Aloe Vera” variants in this review today.  Let’s see how these masks fared.

Masks in general are great and cheap skin care products. They are like mini-facials you can do at home; a good way to pamper yourself. Missha masks are made of 100% cotton.  So, high points for being eco-friendly. Missha is against animal testing, which is very good. Both sheets had ample amount of product but were not dripping with liquid. The fit of the masks were like any other, so nothing extraordinary about that. They are slightly wider than other masks I have tried though. I have combination skin, so I was very curious to see how they do on my oily T-zone area.

To prep my skin, I washed my face with cleanser and applied DHC mild lotion (toner). After the toner had absorbed into the skin, I put the mask and left it on for about 40 minutes to an hour and then took the extra liquid product from the pack and patted it on the face and neck.

For reference, I have acne-prone, sensitive, combination skin.

Caviar mask (Firming and Nourishing):

Caviar is such a luxurious ingredient that I wanted to try it out. This mask feels cooling on the skin. It woke me up rather than help put me to sleep. At night, I would prefer something that is more soothing and calming. But my skin did look hydrated and plump after use, I am not sure about the firming part though. It did not accentuate my oiliness in the T-zone area. There is about 3-4 ml of liquid product in the packet. This liquid is not sticky at all and sinks into the skin quickly. This mask is more hydrating than the tea tree mask.

Tea tree mask (Anti-trouble, Anti-acne):

I had a giant pimple which was almost starting to heal, so I thought this is the right time to try a mask which is anti-acne. Apart from the usual cooling effect, it was very refreshing and had a slight tingling sensation. I guess that is usual of tea tree oil. At the end, my skin didn’t look any different, and the pimple was just the same. The dry skin around the pimple was gone, which I was not able to get rid of before, so that’s a plus. I think tea tree oil may work better when the pimple is just starting to come out or “mature” for lack of a better word. The tingling sensation continues for a few minutes after using the mask.

I did not notice a huge difference with either one, but I guess I might with regular use. The masks did not make my skin oilier and did not break me out or irritate my skin in any way.

Pros of Missha Caviar and Tea Tree Pure Source Sheet Masks:

  • Eco-friendly sheet masks.
  • Hydrating and refreshing on skin.
  • Does not accentuate oiliness.

Cons of Missha Caviar and Tea Tree Pure Source Sheet Masks:

  • The tea tree mask does not do much for acne.

IMBB Rating:

3/5

  1. You are right that these masks work only if you use them regularly!! But they are super expensive in India!! In Japan they cost about 100 yen that is about Rs.55!! I guess I need to use them more while I am here!!!
