Moisturising Face and Body Scrub: DIY

Hey Guys,

Winters are on and dry flaky skin is here to irritate us. Even beauties with normal skin like me are troubled with the rough lifeless skin.:( So today I am going to show you guys a very easy to do facial and body scrub. Please forgive me for my mistakes as it is my first DIY on IMBB; I am planning to do more hopefully 🙂

Note:

I call this a body scrub and also a face scrub because many of us like coarse granules to exfoliate our skin, be it body or face. So you can use this according to your preference. I first use it as a body scrub and as the sugar granules reduce in size by slightly melting down, I eventually I use it a facial scrub.

Ingredients required:

A cup of sugar.
Juice of a lemon(one would suffice).
A tablespoon of honey.
Orange peel.
Lemon peel.
A inch of ginger.
Ginger peel(optional; I added this just to give it a coarse texture).
One and a half table spoons of coconut oil.

An airtight container.

So let’s get started;)

Step 5: Add all the peels you have.

Step 6: Add in the sugar and mix all the things really nicely. It should neither be too oily nor too dry. If you think it is too dry, add more of the coconut oil and if it is too oily, add more sugar.

Some benefits of the ingredients I have used:

Honey:  Honey is a natural pore cleanser. The enzymes in it clarify the skin and keep it clean and clear. It is also a moisturizing mask for the skin.

Ginger: Ginger contains around 40 anti oxidants compounds that protect us from ageing. It is also an anti-septic and a detoxifying agent.

Coconut oil: Now who does not know the benefits of coconut oil. It is great moisturizer for dry skin and it tones the skin and also gives radiance.

Lemon juice: It acts as a natural cleanser for your skin.Citric acid is helpful for pores and dead skin removal.

All the peels used help this scrub to give it more coarse texture and also help to lighten your skin color.

That’s it guys, do try this at home and I am sure you guys will enjoy it. If you have very dry skin, you may feel the need of applying a moisturizer after this. I also wanted to say that you can use any essential oil if you are not a fan of coconut oil fragrance; just add few drops of essential oil like lavender  to get rid of coconut smell.
