Hope all of you are having a good weekend. It is a long weekend here for some states in Australia and I will be relaxing at home even on Monday. All of you would know my love for face masks and Montagne Jeunesse is one of my “go to” brands for face masks. I have tried many masks from this brand and this time I tried the Aromatherapy Masque from MJ.  Almost all masks from this brand smell awesome, so when this one read “Aromatherapy,” I really couldn’t wait to try it out.

Product Description and Claims:

Our infusion of pure lavender and jasmine oil will soothe your soul and senses (we use natural oils so some of you may experience a tingling too!) and natural happy belle stimulates your skins well being whilst rehydrating and rejuvenating.  Your skin will be hydrated, soothed and left glowing with natural radiance, your soul and senses de-stressed and your whole aura relaxed and revived, pure happiness!

How To Apply:

Thoroughly cleanse face with warm water only.  Apply evenly to face and neck, avoiding eyes and lips, leave on for 10-15 minutes, lay back and relax to experience the calming and de-stressing aromatherapy oils. Rinse with water. Pat dry. Use weekly.

Warning:  Natural ingredients may vary in colour. Like all toiletries, these masques are best kept out of reach of children. Avoid eyes. Test for irritancy before use. For external use only.

My Experience with Montagne Jeunesse Aromatherapy Masque:

I love using aromatherapy products for relaxing, especially bath oils, but this is my first ever aromatherapy mask and let’s see how it scored. Like most single use masks from Montagne Jeunesse, this also comes in a sachet. As soon as I opened, it smelled heavily of lavender and it did feel like a de-stressing product. It also contains Cinnamon Leaf oil, Jasmine Oil, Geranium Flower Oil, Roman Chamomile Oil as well as Sandalwood Oil as well as many other oils for added benefit. The colour of the product is a dull purple and it is in a clay based form. This mask it is little bit difficult to spread when compared to other masks.

After applying the mask, I relaxed for about 20 minutes.  After washing the mask off, my face felt a bit dry and it did not look much brighter either. I could see that my face was deeply cleansed and the pores were cleared; however, I didn’t see any major improvement in my skin as it wasn’t hydrated, bright nor soft and smooth.

Compared to other Montagne Jeunesse masks I have used in the past, this didn’t perform as well. The fragrance of this mask made me relax, but I had felt relaxed and distressed even when using other masks such as the chocolate as well as some other masks from this brand.

Pros of Montagne Jeunesse Aromatherapy Masque:

• Contains many essential oils such as Lavender oil, Cinnamon Leaf oil, Jasmine Oil, Geranium Flower Oil, Roman Chamomile Oil as well as Sandalwood Oil to promote relaxation and for de stressing.
• Comes in a sachet, so it is good for travelling.
• Since it is a clay mask, it deep cleanses and clears the pores.

Cons of Montagne Jeunesse Aromatherapy Masque:

• Does not add moisture nor make skin brighter in any way.
• I felt my skin was a bit dry after using this mask.
• The mask gets a bit dry after 15 minutes and might be a bit difficult to wash off.
• Not easily available in all countries – especially this particular mask.

Will I Repurchase Montagne Jeunesse Aromatherapy Masque?

No, this is one of the Montagne Jeunesse masks that didn’t impress me. Apart from the de-stressing properties, I cannot see any other benefits from this mask.
