Montagne Jeunesse Iced Crystal Spearmint and Dead Sea Salt Mask Review

Montagne Jeunesse Iced Crystal Spearmint and Dead Sea Salt Mask Review

For some time, IMBB was filled with Montagne Jeunesse mask reviews.  Nowadays, I don’t see many, so I thought I would review a mask I tried some time back. I have started using masks again since last month because spring has started. During winter, the last thing you would want to do would be applying a mask on your wet face and waiting for it to dry, shivering all the while 😛

Montagne Jeunesse Iced Crystal Spearmint and Dead Sea Salt Mask Review

The mask I would be reviewing today is the iced crystal mask from Montagne Jeunesse. It contains spearmint and deal sea salt and trust me, I was quite skeptical about slathering spearmint and dead sea salt on my face 😛 Now, don’t get me wrong, I wouldn’t mind on my body, feet or even teeth, but spearmint on my face ? Nevertheless, I wanted to give a try.

My Experience with Montagne Jeunesse Iced Crystal Spearmint and Dead Sea Salt Mask:

This mask comes in a sachet as usual; however, recently they have made some more of their masks in tottle versions. I love face masks and especially on weekends.  I don’t feel relaxed unless I put a face mask on. However, I haven’t used many in the past couple of months because it was winter. I felt lazy and cold to try face masks. Come spring time, I have taken my face mask collection out and also bought a couple during travel recently.

Iced Crystal

The iced crystal mask is light green in colour and has a grainy texture (because of the dead sea salt I guess).  The smell was quite similar to toothpaste, Vicks Vaporub, etc.  This might be because it contains spearmint and methanol.  The scent was totally refreshing.  As soon as I applied the mask to my face, I felt the smell was quite overpowering and made my eyes sting even though I didn’t apply it to the under eye area.  (By the way, the peel off masks from MJ sting the eyes as well).  I was so scared to even wait for the 10-15 minutes but I persisted. This is a non-drying mask and comes off easily. However, I used a bit of water and gently exfoliated my face before washing it off.  My skin felt a bit brighter but felt dry. The pores on my nose were reduced and the blackheads were also reduced.  After moisturizing, my skin felt soft.  Overall, this is an okay mask, there are far better masks from MJ.  I do not agree with the concept of using methanol in face products.  I have combination skin and my skin didn’t react badly to it.  However, if you have dry or sensitive skin, please stay away from this mask.  One face mask is enough for two uses.
