My Experience with MUA Pro Base Eye Primer:

MUA i.e., Make Up Academy is a popular drugstore cosmetic brand in the UK which offers some really good products at affordable prices. Unfortunately, its products are not available in India and one has to order them online. So, I ordered a few MUA products; from their official website last year when they had free international Shipping going (on minimum £20 worth of shopping) . I have to admit that all the products that I have tried are of decent quality despite the low price point (especially their eye shadow palettes). I am reviewing today the MUA Pro base primer from my haul.

MUA Pro Base Eye Primer

MUA Pro Base Eye Primer comes in a sleek, lightweight, plastic tube with a screw off white cap (somewhat like a gloss/mascara tube).  It has a doe-foot sponge applicator with which I can dot the primer directly on my eye lids and then blend using my fingertips. It’s an interesting packaging for an eye primer I would say since most eye primers which I have seen come in tube form or in small pots.

The eye primer is slightly tinted (has a flesh-beige-peach tone) which does manage to even out my eyelids a little and gives a neat look when used as it is, however, it won’t show up much if one has dark eye lids. The consistency of the primer is a bit creamy, slightly thick, but blends in quite easily and effortlessly. It dries quickly to a smooth, powdery matte finish; has no shimmer particles.

Now, coming to its performance; the eye primer does manage to improve the staying power of my eye makeup or eye liners and prevents it from creasing or fading off for about 4-5 hours on my oily eye lids (I suppose on normal-dry eye lids, it would perform much better), I would consider it a decent job since the product is not really expensive. Also, it does slightly improve the vibrancy of my eye shadows that are lightly pigmented.

MUA Pro Base Eye Primer

All in all, this is a good budget eye primer I would say. I would recommend it to you if you are looking for a low priced, routine wear eye primer or if you don’t wish to splurge on high-end brands. It may not be able to impress you, if you have used products like the Urban Decay Primer Potion, MAC paint pots etc. I am not into doing a lot of eye makeup often, so this fits the bill completely for me. Considering the price point, it does not disappoint me at all. I would definitely think about repurchasing this, when I order from MUA the next time.
