NARS Beach Pressed Powder Review

NARS is a high-end luxury beauty brand. Its products are expensive and quality wise good too. Recently, I reviewed NARS The multiple – Luxor. Here I am going to review NARS Beach Pressed Powder.

My Experience with NARS Beach Pressed Powder:

Packaging:
NARS is famous for its luxurious packaging. This product comes in a black matte rubberized finish plastic case. The case is quite sleek and sturdy. Very secure to travel with too as the lid encloses the product tightly. The rubberized finish looks quite elegant, but it has its downfalls. First, you can find fingerprints everywhere. Second, even dirt starts sticking to it due to oil transfer from fingers.

On top of the lid ‘NARS’ is printed and at the back there is a black sticker. On this black sticker, all the weight, shade name, manufacturing details etc. are mentioned. The weight of the product given is 8 grams. The all over weight of the product is not much and it feels quite light. As we open the lid, there is very good size mirror provided at the back. The product is embedded in the base with a plastic layer for protection. There is a cotton pad provided for application. It applies product well but you will end up wasting lot of product. I suggest using powder brush for application.

Texture:
There are no complaints from me with respect to its texture. This is the softest, silkiest and smoothest pressed powder I have come across till now. No shimmer/glitter present as its purpose is to provide matte finish. It blends very well. No dryness at all in the powder texture, hence it does not spill that much. With its rubberized packaging, spillage would have made the case look ugly. On application also this did not feel dry or cake like on skin. It is buildable. In its content it says it has titanium dioxide, but I did not observe any serious flashback so it is camera safe too.

Pigmentation:
I would not say this product has out of the world pigmentation, as it is not supposed to give any coverage. Still it blurs out the imperfections on your face without making you look like a piece of chalk. It claims to give very natural look and I am proud to say that it does so. I have often applied it multiple times, but it never seemed like I have piled on a lot of product. It gives a very matte finish without looking dried out. This Beach shade has yellow undertones perfect for medium Indian skin tones. It matches my skin shade perfectly. I have many times used it alone to give my face for a blurred out effect.

Staying Power:
It needs reapplication every 5-6 hours in hot and humid days. I do not mind reapplying it every 6 hours as it needs very little to make my face look matte. But, a single puff does the magic. I did not try it with setting spray because setting spray will take away the finish it provides.

Pros of NARS Beach Pressed Powder:

• Very sturdy, travel friendly packaging
• No compromise on texture
• Pigmentation on point
• Staying power sufficient

Cons of NARS Beach Pressed Powder:

• Little expensive
• Packaging gets dirty easily

IMBB Rating:
5/5

Would I Recommend NARS Beach Pressed Powder?
Yes, I will recommend this product to everyone because this puts an end to problem of cake like setting of makeup. It is costly, I agree; but, the product is very good for its price. I think people fond of using makeup setting powder can try this one, whether on makeup or alone as a blurring product.
