NARS Blush – Impassioned Review

Skin tone: Fair-light, yellow-neutral undertones
Skin type: oily-sensitive, acne prone

Hello beauties,
How are you doing today? I am here to share my latest NARS purchase with you all which is part of the NARS New spring 2016 collection, a permanent addition to NARS blushes. I usually have pinky red flush on cheeks due to acne or acne scars hence I used to shy away from blushes but ever since I started with face makeup, I felt the need for every gorgeous shade in my blush collection. I think I am yet to decide my everyday blush shade while I am experimenting with every possible shade suitable for my skin tone. Thankfully NARS launched this matte mauve pink blush which seems perfect for beginners like me who usually shy away from a bold finish yet love that sheer glow the blushes impart. So let’s read more about NARS Impassioned.

NARS Blush - Impassioned Review

Price: $30 for 0.16 oz, excludes shipping and taxes

What it is:
A soft and sheer, pressed powder blush.
What it does:
NARS Blush offers a range of translucent, natural shades, each with a subtle pink for a natural-looking blush undertone to highlight the complexion. Designed to be worn alone or layered together for more depth, it provides a healthy glow that flatters any skin tone.

My Experience with NARS Blush – Impassioned:

The blush comes in a usual sleek, thin black compact packaging with flip top cap and a thin safety film inside. Over all I find it quite simple and travel friendly product.

packaging

“Impassioned’ is defined as a rich orchid shade but it seems soft muted mauve pink to me; it comes up a bit warmer on my skin tone which is surprising looking at the shade in pan especially. Whatsoever, I totally appreciate its slight warmer pink sheen on my lighter skin tone, so don’t get deceived by its pale pink color; it is perfect for our Indian pale/light or medium skin tones! I love how it provides warm pink glow to my otherwise pale skin tone which almost makes me look anaemic :P. I think it is going to be my comfort shade throughout summers when I just need a subtle or no makeup look without looking anaemic or sick. Lol. Moreover, I need not think about my whole makeup look as the shade pairs well with almost every light-bold lip color.

blush

The texture of this blush is a bit chalky in pan but on my skin it blends like a dream, thankfully much to my liking. In fact, the powdery blush is finely milled with a bit flaky texture but it always comes smooth, seamless on my skin regardless of using angled or fluffy blush brush. Oh yes, Impassioned is not only a comfortable color but a no brainer blush too as I need not work on its blending or color pay off. It does need few swipes to show up on skin which is according to me a blessing because my beginner skills and shaky hands are bound to make mistakes so I am happy that I do not need to be afraid of clownish or cakey finish at the end.

blush pan

As I said earlier, consider it as your comfort shade and formula which will not sit on dry patches or come up streaky, patchy on skin; it provides a buildable finish on skin with subtle translucency which gives natural glow if I put it this way. And to top over it, it stays on and on for 6+ hours on my oily skin with no flaky or patchiness on skin unlike other matte blushes. I do have slight dry, uneven texture on cheeks and I am impressed to see that being a matte blush it neither accentuated my oily acne prone skin type nor it every felt overtly drying on my cheeks.

Would I Recommend NARS Blush – Impassioned?
I just love the way it comes up on my skin with effortless blending and seamless non-patchy finish; I think it is spoiling me a little every day as I reach for blushes no matter I am sitting at home or going out for grocery. Lol. I would definitely recommend this mauve pink blush to every fair/light/wheatish skin tone beauty. Spoiler alert! You might want to use it every day!

Verdict: Well I don’t think I have any major concerns with this wonderful matte blush except the fact that it is sheerer than most blushes I own; but this is what I expect from my summer makeup regime. I don’t like the heavy finish so this is what I would like to wear all through summers.
