Hello IMBB friends… If you know me here, you definitely know my love for bronze eyes. Fun fact : whenever I picture goddesses in my head, I always picture them having a bronze tone. For me Bronze is a color of Royalty and it is such a versatile color that would suit formal Indian wear as well as casual western outfits..

NARS says : This long-wearing, crease-resistant formula is uniquely paired in dazzling and creative color combinations, expertly coordinated by François Nars. Worn together or alone, these shades are richly pigmented and can be applied sheer or built up for a more dramatic effect. Used wet, these shadows also double as eyeliners.

My take on NARS Duo Eyeshadow Isolde:

I was actually hell bent on their “Corduroy” but when I actually swatched them in the store, I loved this duo a lot more. Also, this was sold out almost everywhere, made me get it all the more. I had a friend ship it to me from another state. NARS blushes are my favourite and the shadows are coming a close second.

NARS describes Isolde as “ frosted ginger/ shimmering copper”. This duo has two very orange based bronze/gold shades. the lighter colour is this coppery, rosy ginger and the darker colour is a coppery bronze. The pigmentation is bang on and the color consistency is so fabulous. The powder is finely milled and is an absolute delight when I apply it. It is so pigmented that initially I ended up with a lot on my eye and it can be a bit intimidating. I only have to slightly touch my brush on it to get a decent amount of color. I have also use it with my fingers and I was able to apply it beautifully because it just blended so well.

I normally apply the lighter shade all over my lids with the darker shade in the outer-V. Or with some matte brown in the crease. It just makes my brown eyes pop and With a dark eyeliner, it makes them look absolutely glamorous. I’m in love with this duo. These are soft and not chalky or glittery. In the pan, they might appear as slightly shimmery, but when I apply it , it just gives a nice glistening appeal to the eyes. There is absolutely minimal fallout and it does not travel on my face thankfully 🙂

The staying power is an absolute delight and with a primer underneath, it stays on for more than 7 hours on my oily lids. Sometimes, when I’m in a hurry, I just smudge the darker shade of the duo on my lower lash line on top of a kohl and it instantly gives a lovely effect.

– NARS duos have awesome color selection and this one is my favourite- hands on!
– The perfect warm shades (Specially for our Indian skintones)
– The MUA told me it looks particularly fabulous on brown and green eyes.
– The pigmentation is out of this world.
– Not too shimmery so can be used in day time looks.
– Minimal fallout.
– Has a mirror for touch ups.
– Cruelty free brand.
– NO brush needed (I just blend the colors with my fingers).

Cons of NARS Duo Eyeshadow Isolde:

The rubberized packaging makes it so dirty. I clean it everytime 🙁
– Very Expensive : it is like a luxury for me.
– This particular shade is so popular, it is sold out everywhere!

Verdict on NARS Duo Eyeshadow Isolde:

I give it a rating of 4.5/5 just cutting half a mark for the cost 🙁 I am so much in love with this duo that I will cry if NARS ever decides to discontinue. Girls, Diwali is coming and you might want to start hinting your BFs/ hubbys to get it for you :*
