How are you doing today? I am here to share another pink rose shade of NARS velvet liner. It is a wonderful reddish plum liner (you can call it a soft marsala shade) which will work with most pink rose, subtle plum rose lip colors I think. Sadly, I don’t have such beautiful reddish plum gloss or lipstick; hence, my goal is to find an exactly similar shade of gloss and lipstick next!

My Experience with NARS Velvet Lip Liner Patong Beach:
The liner comes in retractable pencil packaging with a cap and additional sharpener attached to its retractable base. I highly appreciate this retractable packaging as it is so easy to use. Overall, I find it perfect for everyday usage and travel purpose.
The shade Patong Beach is described as a pink rose and is a lovely soft plum liner with a matte finish. It looks a soft subtle marsala (subtle hint of red-plum) shade at times. However, the texture of this matte lip liner is slightly drying than other colors. I have tried Nihiwatu and Mirihi Island Beach shades and both are way slippery and non-drying on lips while Patong Beach seems a bit tugging on lips.
It won’t dry up my normal dry lips but I do see it slightly clinging to dry patches; it does forgive minor dryness on lips though. Whatsoever, it can be tricky for dry lips unless you use a lip balm prior to wearing this shade.
I tried wearing it over well scrubbed, hydrated lips and I still missed that slippery ease of application which I used to experience with Nihiwatu. However, I don’t see it as a con because it does not accentuate or aggravate dry lips issues. It is also intensely pigmented to give buildable coverage and color pay off in just 1-2 strokes while it seldom sits in lip lines or crevices. Moreover, it also helps with transferring and bleeding issues with most of creamy lip colors/glosses as it also increases the staying power of my lip makeup.
I also see that most of my glosses seem non-sticky when applied over this lip liner; hence I am pretty happy with this formula even if it is on dry side. It alone stays for as long as 6-7 hours on my lips while it fades a bit with light meal/snacks. It does fade into patches after one heavy meal which needs to be taken care of while I feel no dryness or irritation post fading of this liner from lips. To be honest, I am in love with this shade and would definitely like to get it again especially for its retractable packing, matte finish and staying power. Not to forget, it solves the bleeding and transferring issues very well!
Pros of NARS Velvet Lip Liner Patong Beach:
• Such a gorgeous rosy pink (with hint of red undertones) matte lip liner.
• It gives intense color pay off and buildable coverage in just 1-2 strokes.
• It forgives minor dryness and light-medium pigmentation up to good extent.
• It does not accentuate or aggravate further dryness of my lips.
• It does not set in lip lines or dry patches.
• It does not highlight lip flaws despite being a matte lip liner.
• It does helps with bleeding and transferring issues with every type of lip color/gloss.
• It alone stays for decent 6-7 hours surviving light meals/snacks.
• Quite user friendly and travel friendly packaging.
Cons of NARS Velvet Lip Liner Patong Beach:
• It is certainly tricky for dry, parched lips.
