Hello pretty women!

My recent introduction to the dynamic and lovely community of Indian Makeup and Beauty Blog has an interesting background story to it. A month ago, when I was home for my vacations, I noticed grievous disappearances from my vanity case. Initially, things would return by themselves after a short period of inexplicable absence. But that was to stop in a matter of days. The disappearances recurred with alarming frequency and the products wouldn’t come back any more. Customarily, I accosted my sister, Sushmita, with charges of larceny and she admitted to “borrowing” my stuff for reviewing them here. Might I add, that the sheer magnificence of this blog did more to appease my anger than my sister’s thousands pleadings. 😀

So here I am, with my very first review for IMBB.  It is about Nature’s Essence Neem Pack.

Price: INR 100 for 60 gram

Ingredients: Neem Kernel Oil, Lavender Oil, Fuller’s Earth

Product Claims: A special blend of Neem, Aloevera and Clove, it purifies and protects the skin and gives glow as well.

Directions for use: Apply the pack on the face and it for 10-15 minutes and clean.

My Experience with Nature’s Essence Neem Pack:

Examining the ingredients closely, we deduce that the three major components of this pack are quite prevalent for skin care. Sarva Roga Nivarini, the healer of all maladies, neem oil, is proven to be antibacterial and astringent. Lavender oil, too, posses noted antibacterial properties and is coveted in aromatherapy. Fuller’s earth is a loyal cleanser. So put together, the face-pack is expected to work wonders for skin, a conjecture, validated vehemently in its first use itself! The sturdy white jar, secured by a screw cap and disc underneath, reveals a very pale olive-colored paste that casts a palpably bitter smell, characteristic of neem, as soon as it is unscrewed. No, it is not as overwhelming as to knock you off, but the prospect of bearing with it for a quarter of an hour, sure, is daunting.

The ready-to-use paste is conveniently dense to be applied with bare fingers. After cleansing, I applied it onto my face and neck. While its density was apt for application, drying took its own sweet time.

Apparently, the stated 15 minutes are not sufficient for the paste to dry. I had it on for a little over half an hour. I would advise you to place cucumber slices on your eyes, for neem essence is bound to irritate them when applied for such a long stretch. When the pack had been washed off, the results were enthralling! Nature’s Essence Neem Pack imparted a radiant glow to my face. It could possibly have de-tanned my face too, for my skin did seem a tad fairer. And most importantly, it kept acne in check. My face was smooth to touch and radiant to behold. I am delighted with the results!

Pros of Nature’s Essence Neem Pack:

1. Inexpensive
2. Easily available
3. Convinient to apply
4. Leaves skin sparkling clean and clear
5. Removes tan to some extent
6. Imparts a visible glow to skin
7. Prevents breakout
8. Considerable quantity (60 grams sufficed for four applications)

Cons of Nature’s Essence Neem Pack:

1. Takes too long to dry
2. Bitter smell

Will I repurchase this product?

Yes! This makes it to my list of staples. I have been using it for a month and have no plans of discontinuing.

Who will I recommend this product to?

I confidently recommend this product to women with oily skin. As to its effect on dry skin, I cannot comment.
