My experience with Marks & Spencer Fig & Orange Oil Hand Cream :

I never had bought a nail cream before. But recently I started feeling that my nails have become brittle and start to chip off easily, I guess because of the heavy usage of acetone. So I bought this cream to rescue my poor nails.
The product comes in a beautiful light mauve tube with a white sturdy lid. The tube is very compact and is easy to carry in your handbag. The cream is white in color and the consistency is just perfect (not too runny or creamy).

The smell is very mild and not too overpowering. It stays on for sometime after applying but it does not smell anything like oranges. It smells more like fig or something which I hate about it (I hate figs….)

Very small quantity is required to cover both your hands. After applying, it takes a lot of time to seep into the skin. I rub it for about 1-2 minutes to let it absorbed. It forms a white cast on the skin. As you can see below, even after rubbing for 30 seconds it does not get absorbed:

But once absorbed, you are left with such with highly moisturized hands. My hands become rejuvenated in an instant and that is the only part I love about this cream. As a nail cream, it does not do anything to cure the cuticles. I did not find any great results.

In all, I would give full marks to it as a hand cream and nil for doing nothing to my poor nails.

Pros of Marks & Spencer Fig & Orange Oil Moisturising Hand & Nail Cream :

  • Very moisturizing.
  • Keeps your hands hydrated for a long time.
  • Easily available.
  • Little quantity is required.

Cons of Marks & Spencer Fig & Orange Oil Moisturising Hand & Nail Cream :

  • Takes time to get absorbed.
  • Available in only one size.
  • Does not smell like oranges.
  • Bit expensive for that much quantity.
  • Does not do anything for nails.
  • Contains parabens.

  1. Hi

Where can we get M&S products…. in Chennai or online…. I luv them….

Also please note that brittle nails may be due to lack of calcium (jus a word of caution)

  2. i like nivea hand creams… They really work well for my very dry skin… And my skin just drink it sooper fast as soon as i apply it…
And for brittle nails olive oil can be applied… I’ll always apply olive oil tp remove kajal, for cleansing and also apply it after using nail polish remover… leaving it overnight on nails, will do miracles on the nails…. Try it :)… All the best
