Neutrogena Fine Fairness Brightening Serum Review

Something that lived up to its expectation

neutro

Helloo my fellow comrades, I am new to IMBB and after a lot of soul searching I felt the definite need to share this product review with you.

I had chickenpox recently…Eww…Such a hideous experience and it left a hell lot of “memorabilia” right on my face. I was just depressed and tried on many products including lacto calamine to fairness creams. I was really embarrassed as I had planned a trip to Singapore where my sister is and the sheer thought of vacation photos with pox marks were killing me. Right on that time Neutrogena had launched Fine fairness Brightening Serum in Singapore. It is really different from Whitening essence available in India.

And let me tell you, there is a whole lot of difference between brightening and whitening serums. Brightening serums impart an even tone and subtle glow to your skin. It should never be mistaken for whitening or fairness serums.

Product claims: High penetrating serum that lightens the look of dark spots and brightens overall skin tone for a fair, lasting translucency from within.

Usage: 1-2 times a day after cleansing. Lightly massage in to boost penetration.

Price: The actual price was 29 Sing dollars but they had a launch offer for 19 Sing dollars.

Quantity: 30ml

Packaging: Hygienic sturdy pump.

You could imagine my frenzy to get it.

Now why the product?arise my geeky side.

The product contained: Retinol (animal form of vitamin A, potent anti oxidant),

Niacin amide (Vitamin B, potent ability to retain moisture in skin, Anti-inflammatory),

Ascorbic Acid (Vitamin C, anti oxidant, reduce the appearance of skin discolorations, enhance skin’s repair process, help skin better withstand exposure to sunlight, Whitening agent),

Ascorbic Glucoside (Antioxidant, Whitening effect).

These are the skin essentials to look for in a good product and also the packing. This product comes in an air tight pump. The above given components if exposed to air will get oxidized and get converted to the respective ineffective forms. It would be just another self proclaimed “Fairness “cream then.

So I just grabbed it. It is a light pale yellow easily absorbable serum. I felt slight tingling in initial days due to active Vit C.But gradually got used to it. It was truly light weight as I have an oily skin. As the product claimed my pox marks began to fade with in 10 days. Can you imagine? I was on cloud nine. I was living in the misconception that I was doomed till eternity and all that melo drama. My skin tone evened out and you could find a dewy glow.

Never expect any whitening effect from this product. This improves skin texture and fades the dark spots. It is also an anti ageing product (even though the company never claims that way) due to the ingredient list for people in mid twenties

Likes Of Neutrogena Fine Fairness Brightening Serum:

1. Effective ingredient list.

2. Hygienic air tight pump which can be locked by twisting to side ways.

3. Reduces dark spot as it claims.

4. Light weight water texture.

5. Alcohol freeee.

6. Non comedogenic.

7. Oil free.

8. Glides easily on skin. Just need two pumps for face and neck.

9. Almost unscented…its in my likes list

10. Did not cause any break outs.

Dislikes of Neutrogena Fine Fairness Brightening Serum:

1. A bit pricey I guess. The pump lasts for almost 2 months with extra careful efforts.

2. Vitamin C might not be a good idea for dry skin as it may cause flakiness and drying effect. It’s appropriate for oily and combination skin.

3. If pump left open product gets oxidized and turns to red colour. So don’t be in a hurry.

4. No SPF.

5. Not available in India.

Rating: 4.5 out of 5.

Will I buy it again???Yes…Yes…yes… It’s highly effective for me.

Thank you for hearing me out:)
