How many times does that happen that we buy something and completely forget about it until one day when we are just cleaning up our stash that across the stuff and realize we had something lying totally unused? And then we use that stuff once and think why we even forgot about it in the first place. Well, it happens to me all the time. And the product I’m reviewing is from the category of unused stuff that I’ve eventually come to adore. It’s New York Color (N.Y.C.) Flatliner eye pencil in electric blue. I came across this eye pencil just randomly and bought it without much thought considering the affordable price and gorgeous color. Read on to find more.

My take on New York Color (N.Y.C.) Flatliner eye pencil in electric blue:

Let me begin by saying that it is one of the most long lasting eye pencils I’ve ever tried. I mean an eye pencil that last 8-9 hours (that’s the longest I’ve ever worn it yet) without smudging a bit, is too good to be true. Alas, this one does last this loooooong.

The eye pencil comes in a very trendy packaging. The electric blue at the bottom looks adorable while the whole pencil in itself has a very stylish appeal. The texture of the pencil is neither too hard nor too creamy; somewhere in the middle. It doesn’t look harsh/ awkward on eyes. It can be applied as a thin liner or an eye shadow; I prefer the latter. When applied, it gives a beautiful electric blue shade. It takes me 3-4 swipes of the eye pencil to get to the true color but once that color sets in, it looks just gorgeous! I prefer applying it as an eye shadow though.

It glides onto the eyes pretty smoothly, without tugging. Another thing I’d like to mention, that I’ve never really applied it on the upper/ lower waterline since the ingredients are nowhere mentioned and I have really sensitive eyes (but that’s just my preference; I know it will look equally good as a kohl too). The staying power is super, super awesome. Once applied, I can rest assured that it’s going to remain as it is the whole day. Only minus is that unless you have a special sharpener for flat eye pencils, they’re a total waste.

Final word: if you want an affordable waterproof and smudgeproof eye pencil, this is totally it!
