My Experience with Nivea Essential Care Lip Balm:

Nivea is known for their quality skin and body care range and this is no exception from that.  I got this lip balm free with Nivea Soft Cream.  My lips are usually rather dry and now that it is winter, they are getting even drier from the cold and wind. This lip balm is AMAZING! It leaves my lips feeling soft and it also gives a nice glossy finish.

Nivea Lip Balm

The lip balm comes in a basic lip balm twist-up stick packaging. However, I feel that the container is rather cheap. The lip balm has a white creamy texture. It has a nice feel, glides on so easily because of its creamy formula and of course provides a great moisturizing barrier. There is no taste, so I’m not tempted to lick my lips. Because the stick is white, if you try to go overboard with it, it tends to impart a whitish tint layer on your lips.

Nivea

My lips are softer and smoother when I use this continuously. I can notice a real difference in how soft my lips are after using this compared to the others that I have used. I dab it on my lips, it sits for up to 30-40 minutes, then it soaks in and leaves my lips silky. It keeps my lips well hydrated for hours without drying them. I need not re-apply it again and again, hardly 3-4 times a day. Really, this works wonders for me in this cold season.  It isn’t “waxy” like some lip balms out there.
It has a mild sweet fragrance which is hard to describe; I find the fragrance akin to some faint sunscreen/medicine, but it’s super moisturizing.

My only gripe is the packaging. It’s also kind of bulky and like in the case of most tubes, it leaves a bit of the product that needs to be scraped at the end.

The drawback of this is no SPF in it, but I really don’t mind that looking at all the other positive aspects of this.

Lip balm

Pros of Nivea Essential Care Lip Balm:

  • It moisturizes lips and adds a pretty tint at the same time.
  • Contains ingredients like shea butter, jojoba oil which helps to moisturize lips and keep them hydrated.
  • Stays longer on lips unlike other lip balms which need to be re-applied again and again.
  • One stick lasts for long.
  • Decently priced for the results it gives.
  • Easy to apply as it comes in a thick stick, which makes it look like a lipstick and looks quite attractive.
  • It takes around 30 minutes for it to get completely absorbed, but when it does get absorbed, the lips feels soft.
  • Great product for those who have very dry lips.
  • It doesn’t suck moisture out, simply seals moisture in and keeps it there.
  • Dermatologist tested.
  • No artificial color.
  • No availability issues.

Cons of Nivea Essential Care Lip Balm:

  • No SPF.
  • Needs to be re-applied after meals and sips of liquids.
  • It ends up as a whitish layer on your lips if you go overboard with it.

Final Verdict on Nivea Essential Care Lip Balm:

I will surely like to buy this again.  The only thing is that I would like to try the other variants from Nivea like Strawberry as it might give me a tint with which I can replace it with a lipstick. This is a must-have essential for lip care which keeps lips hydrated and soft for longer duration without making them dry.  I will repurchase it if I don’t find something better than this!!!

  2. Good review, Mamta! :woot: :woot: I’ve been eyeing this balm for some time now. The no-SPF bit is a bummer but I desperately need something hydrating for my lips. :preen: I’m going to look for the strawberry one in this because I’m not too keen on the whitish layer that this one may provide. :silly: :silly:

  3. Good review mamta :thanks: . I have used this some time back :preen: and found it quite decent now with so many flavours available i am eyeing on the pomegranate one from nivea :jiggy1: :jiggy1: .
