Nivea Fruity Shine Pomegranate Tinted Lip Balm Review

Today I am going to review..
Item: Nivea Fruity Shine lip balm in Pomegranate.

Many of you may have used the strawberry and cherry lip balms from nivea. I have used both of them and I still have a li’l bit left.This time while shopping I spotted a new flavour and without second thoughts decided to buy it. It is called “NIVEA Fruity Shine Pomegranate”.I found it quite interesting due to the pomegranate flavour because I’ve never seen anything with that flavour.I came home and immediately unpacked it. The packaging is shimmery deep red in colour and as you can see in the pic they changed the shape of the cap.
The pomegranate lipbalm is deep red in colour with lots of pink and silver micro shimmer in it.
I desperately wanted to smell it first to see how a pomegranate flavoured lip balm smells! I smelt it..and I was like what!!! Because it smells like a water melon flavoured jelly!!!(if you ever ate boomerang melon flavoured jelly bubble gum you’ll know what the smell is like) so they should’ve named it a melon flavoured lipblam! The smell is quite strong..sensitive noses may not be able to bear it.it took me quite some time to get used to the smell. After smelling I applied it to my lips and to my surprise it tasted exactly like that melon jelly! Yes..like the melon jelly in the center of boomerang bubblegum! I never had the habit of licking my lips after applying anything to them so I never noticed how the previous ones tasted.. 
I rushed to my room and tasted both the cherry and strawberry lipbalms and they had a very bad chemical taste to them! So I was impressed! coming to the colour it applies as a very sheer lovely deep rosey maroon red colour.my lips are a li’l bit dark dull and ashy looking and it gave a very natural tint to them and made them look alive.so this is a must have for all the ladies out there with dark pigmented lips or dull ashy looking lips! It has spf 10 in it..so yay for that! 
The shimmer is very fine and less that it is not that noticeable.

for colour comparison purpose I swatched all the three colours side by side for you guys.
Clockwise & bottom to top: pomegranate,cherry and strawberry.
I guess they improved the formulation in pomegranate one too! Because the moisturizing effect lasts nearly 3-4 hours as opposed to the former ones which had to be re-applied every 1 hour or so.Even after full meals the colour fades off but not the moisturising effect.Thumbs up for this! I apply it 3 times: after bath,after washing face in the evening and before going to bed.so far I am in love with this . :*
Pros of Nivea Fruity Shine Pomegranate Lip Balm
- It gives a very natural tint to any kind of lips irrespective of their pigmentation.
- Moisturisation effect lasts a good 3-4 hours.(if not licked off)
- Shimmer is not at all gritty and tacky.it is very fine and is very less.
- It tastes so good.
- Very affordable price.
- Has spf 10.
Cons of Nivea Fruity Shine Pomegranate Lip Balm
- The smell is so strong that those with smell sensitive noses may not be able to bear it.
- It tastes so good! This is a con too because some people may lick it off either due to their lip licking habit or due to its sweet taste!
Will I repurchase this? I will.. I definitely will..
Will I recommend this? YES(but not for sensitive noses!)

hey sireesha thoroughly impressed wana buy it but teme one thng is this made in India lipbalm?coz if its one of the PHOREGN MADE nd its sort of importated i wnt buy it!i do not those products enough!

i checked both the tube and packaging..they didn’t exactly mention where it is made but i found “Beiersdorf AG,Hamburg”.so i guedd it is not made in india but it is imported and markrted by nivea india pvt. ltd.,

oh woww..this looks really nice!!! :waytogo: …Actually that smell experience ..even I faced with my Loreal Watermelon ice juice stick…It smelled of strawberries!!
..he he…I think I might try this for spf and for moisturizing effect..and It is cheaper than lip spa therapy!!

i have been searching and searching and searching for this ever since i heard of its launch…. i found it the day before after 6 months of search!!!
and yes, it does not smell like a pomegranate but like a melon… the hydration is much better than previous ones…. :yes: for the review!

I love these lip balms! I have these in strawberry and dragon fruit and I’d seen the pomegranate one but not bought it. I thought it’ll be similar to the strawberry one. Thanks for the comparison swatches. i’m so getting this! :yahoo:

I use dto love love love nivea strawberry lip balm. It was moisturizing but did nothing to my chapped lips.I think that was the only lip balm I finished till the very end. I would give this a try may be a few months down the line .
me too used to looooouuuuu strawberry.. :-* but do try these new ones rati..they’re improved! even i have chapped lips problem too..but this one healed them amazingly :waytogo:

guess u r right rajeshwari..i thought like that because the previous ones smelled according to their flavours! strawberry one had strawberry smell and the cherry one had cherry smell!

I have the strawberry one and i love the tint affect it gives !!! but like rati it does not help with the chapped lips…i find it a bit waxy… so i use it like a gloss

yes priya..the previous ones didn,t help a bit in healing my chapped lips.but trust me..these new ones are awesome! it healed my chapped lips to a great extent! i’m lovin it.. :-*

i love the lovely tint that these nivea balms provide but i don’t like the chemical taste/smell. this one doesn’t have it? sounds good!
and now that i think of it, i’ve never really paid attention to how a pomegranate smells..
