Nivea Rose Care and Colour Lip Balm Review

Hello beauties,

I recently reviewed the Nivea Care and Colour Lip Balm in Red which turned out to be good, but nothing different from other Nivea balms. The pick for today is the Rose variant. I was expecting it to be a light baby pink shade, but this turned out to be totally different. Scroll to know more how bad this shade was!

My Experience with Nivea Rose Care and Colour Lip Balm:

Nivea Rose Care and Colour Lip Balm Review

The Nivea care and colour lip balm, as expected, would give hydration along with some tint. But what was new in this concept? I don’t think anything because all the older Nivea lip balms have the same concept. I think this is a just a new way to market and sell their products to make more money! The lip balm comes in a white coloured packaging with the Nivea logo and the name over it in blue. Not very fancy, but okay! It is travel-friendly and would fit anywhere into the pocket, makeup bag or handbag. It has this twisty thing at the bottom which works fine.

The colour I picked up is Rose. I was expecting a nice baby pink colour, not very pigmented, but yes a noticeable tint. The bullet comes in a subtle, rosy baby pink colour. It has this circular formula in the middle which provides hydration to the lips. The bullet glides very smoothly on my lips and just 2 swipes are enough to get the colour on my lips. It has a nice fruity scent to it which lingers for a while on my lips. It provides an instant hydration to my lips and keeps them moisturised for around 3-4 hours and then the lip balm starts going off. But here comes the worst part of the lip balm – the tint is nothing close to a “rosy” one. The moment I rub it on my lips, my lips totally turn white and pale.

It just has a pink tint and the rest of the colour is white. I look like casper’s sister! 😛 It totally washes out my complexion and makes me look sick. Who would dare to go out with white lips? Seriously how can big brands like Nivea do this! The tint also stays for around 2 hours, but I would just prefer removing it within a minute. The colour clings on to the dry patches on my lips and settles into fine lines. It will take a while to heal chapped and dry lips and I think even a small tube of Vaseline would do a better job than this. I love its variant in Red, but this is a total waste and I cannot find a better place for this than a dustbin.

Pros of Nivea Rose Care and Colour Lip Balm:

• Easily available in stores and on online portals too
• Convenient packaging which is travel-friendly and fits easily in pocket, makeup bag or handbag
• It glides very smoothly on the lips
• It gives really good hydration to the lips and treats chapped lips too
• It has a pleasing fruity scent to it which lingers for a while and then goes away
• It keeps my lips hydrated for 3-4 hours

Cons of Nivea Rose Care and Colour Lip Balm:

• The colour clings to chapped portions initially
• The bad pinkish white colour settles into fine lines
• It does not have any rosy colour; it is just pinkish white and it just looks so yuck!
• The claim about the colour is totally wrong; Nivea you got to pull up your socks and try this yourself first
• I think this concept is nothing new; this is very similar to the older lip balms from Nivea
• No SPF
• They test on animals (they don’t do it themselves but sell in countries which do; so technically, yes they do!)

Would I Repurchase/Recommend Nivea Rose Care and Colour Lip Balm?
I just hate this one! It looks totally ugly and weird on me; not only me, it would look the same on everyone. Just look at the swatch, would you dare use it? 😛 I really wonder whether people who made this tried it themselves. How can they put in such a bad product in the market without testing it out first!

  1. I generally like Nivea lip balms which are gel type(you know what I mean). But these kind of Nivea balms tend to melt a bit, I use these very very rarely. Now this whitish cast on lips is a total bummer. So, no way I am going to buy this. Thanks for your warning dear.

    1. Yes got it Pritha :-)I think I am having a good time with baby lips and lotus ones and these are to be kept far.. the red variant still worked okay.. but this is worse than ever 🙁 your most welcome 🙂
