My lipstick obsession made me buy another long wearing lip color from NYC Smooch Proof range. Sometimes, online shopping has its own risks like you can pick up the wrong color by just looking at the pictures. Let’s jump into the review to know more about this one.

My Experience with NYC #400 On Everyone’s Lips Smooch Proof Liquid Lip Stain:
It has a traditional liquid lip color packaging consisting of a see through tube with details over it. It has a black cap with connected doe foot applicator which is pretty stiff for precise application. The shade code , name and ingredients are mentioned on the plastic seal; this is quite annoying as once it is removed, there is no way you can find out these details. It has a very light, watery consistency. It is very smooth in application as liquid lip color always tend to be, but it doesn’t hold good pigmentation. Even two swipes are not enough to get the true color. It dries down pretty fast on the lips and become transfer proof.
The shade I picked up is a brown toned berry color that doesn’t suit my skin tone at all. It will look great on fair to medium skin tones though. Not just that the color doesn’t suit me, it gives a strong tingling sensation once you apply it. It takes more than 5 minutes to dry down which is a nay for me. I was quite excited to try this shade, but again this shade is meant for lighter skin tones.
It dries to a complete matte finish and does not get patchy upon layering. But, as it sets on the lips, it dries the lips out and one needs to layer the lips with a chapstick. It do have a floral scent that is overpowering for me. I must mention that it does not transfer, no matter what touches your lips! 😉
The longevity is not matter of appreciation for this range. It stayed almost 3 hours with eating and drinking and I noticed the complete fading of color at my lips . It don’t stained my lips and even there were no traces of color on lips.
Note: The lip color is layered 6 times on lips and on back of the palm to get the true color in the picture
Pros of NYC #400 On Everyone’s Lips Smooch Proof Liquid Lip Stain:
• Transfer proof
• Does not budge or feather once set
• Watery consistency and lightweight
• Does not get patchy upon layering
• Very affordable
• Does not get chipped
• Can stay for long, but without meals
• Could be a nice MLBB shade for some skintones
Cons of NYC #400 On Everyone’s Lips Smooch Proof Liquid Lip Stain:
• It has a sweet, floral smell, but for me it is overpowering
• Poor pigmentation
• Doesn’t survive meals
• It gives a tingling sensation that irritates me a lot
• Dries out the lips

Never! I think there are better options in the market. Just skip this one.

Pigmentation is actually bad! Can’t believe it’s been layered six times and still color is hardly visible.
Not meant for dusky or mdium skin tone. Pigmentation and staying power both are downside for me
