NYX Berry Tea Whipped Lip and Cheek Souffle Review

Skin tone: fair-light, yellow-neutral undertones
Skin type: oily-sensitive, acne prone

Hola,

Hope you all are doing fine! I am here to talk about my recent purchase which comes from none other than NYX, our beloved low-end but high-quality brand. NYX had launched these souffles in around 8 shades last year and all the shades are gorgeous. However I am not a big fan of these souffles considering I have an oily skin type that gets clogged easily. Still I am sure that beauties from every age group would love to try these babies out. Let’s read more about NYX Berry Tea Whipped Lip and Cheek Souffle!

My Experience with NYX Berry Tea Whipped Lip and Cheek Souffle:

The souffle comes in a sturdy and transparent plastic bottle packaging with a lip applicator attached to its black cap. It does have a funky, candy-like smell which might be a turn off for sensitive noses, though it soon subsides. Overall, I like its user-friendly and travel-friendly packaging; the packaging seems to be a dupe of YSL Baby Doll Kiss n Blush.

My shade “Berry Tea” is described as a berry pink souffle which is true to its description. It comes up as a soft berry pink on my lips and pale skin both. I find it perfect for my skin tone as it imparts such a natural flush of color to my cheeks without looking made up. In fact, it imparts such a lovely, soft sheen. I mean it gives a sheer to medium color pay off to the lips while it maintains sheer translucency on my cheeks whether I use a sponge, brush or my fingers to blend the product.

The texture of this souffle is really light-weight and feels almost like a whipped cream on my skin as it glides like butter. However, blame this applicator or the formula, it gives a bit streaky and sheer finish to lips and I require multiple swipes to build the color up. Not to forget, it is mandatory to wear this souffle over well scrubbed and hydrated skin (and lips) or it will appear patchy. Yes, it won’t forgive even minor dryness.

NYX Berry Tea Whipped Lip and Cheek Souffle Claims

I won’t say it aggravates or accentuates the dry patches on my lips and/or cheeks, but it does emphasize them over a period of time. Like when I wear it on my lips, firstly it gives a subtle soft berry sheen even if I keep swiping it on and on. Then, it dries into a semi-wet stain which easily fades and transfers to everything over a period of time. It might not settle into the fine lines or dry patches, but I find this finish tricky for my normal-dry and pigmented lips.

Anyway I like the way it appears on my cheeks and gives that natural hue. One can simple dab some product with their fingers and add a nice touch of color to their cheeks and lips. But, as mentioned earlier, your skin needs to be well scrubbed. My skin texture is a bit uneven and I feel this souffle forgives it as it imparts a nice finish and does not emphasize open pores. The formula isn’t very drying but it isn’t really hydrating. Hence, it can work for everyone except beauties with parched skin and pigmented lips.

NYX Berry Tea Whipped Lip and Cheek Souffle Hand Swatch

I am glad that despite its tricky formula, finish, and transferring features, it stays on for 3-4 hours on my lips and 5-6 hours on my oily skin. I would definitely recommend it to young beauties especially those who shy away from dramatic makeup. Beauties in their 20s, 30s and even 40s would love this product for its translucent and light-weight finish. Personally, I might get it again.
