NYX Color Lip Balm – Tack Review

An e-commerce site has a big sale on NYX products. I brought a couple of products. After reading the reviews of NYX color lip balms recently, I couldn’t resist picking up. The shade I am going to review today is “Tack”.

What NYX says:

Add color and moisturize to your lips in one application. When your lips crave hydration and you crave color, NYX Cosmetics new Color Lip Balm is the perfect option! Get the moisture, shine, and a sheer wash of color your lips desire while still looking natural. Available in 12 shades.

What I have to say about NYX Color Lip Balm Tack:

This is comes in an elegant twist-up tube. It is a black tube with a ring in the shade of the color. It is quite easy to locate in my messy hand bag. I would not say it is a pretty handy and travel-friendly. The shade I am about to review is Tack. It is described as “natural brown/beige” on the web site. I find it peachy nude brown on me. It might turn out to be a MLBB shade for many. It has a mild fruity fragrance but doesn’t linger long post application. The fragrance shouldn’t be an issue for any one.

The texture is buttery and I find it very light. It is not waxy at all. The color pay off of the lip balm is also good. This lip balm glides on like a dream. It doesn’t settle in the fine lines. I also made my lip lips looks plumper. I only wish it had more staying power. It stays on my lips for 2 hours. I don’t mind re-application as it is not waxy. I love how it feels on my lips. More than the staying power, I hate the fact that they don’t have SPF.

What I like about NYX Color Lip Balm Tack:

  • Travel friendly.
  •  Good pigmentation.
  • Makes lips appear fuller.
  • Buttery smooth formula.
  • Not waxy or sticky.
  •  Moisturizing.
  • Complete list of ingredients. Though the list is a bit long and little scary. I am glad they have mentioned it.

What I hate about NYX Color Lip Balm Tack:

  • I wish their staying power was better
  • Fragrance might be an issue for some.
  •  No SPF.

This range definitely fits the bill as a tinted lip balm. A very good alternative if you are looking for a change from Maybelline lip balms. More than that I would say it almost reaches the Revlon and L’Oreal lip butter quality at just half the price. It is less than half actually. I have already ordered another shade. I would definitely recommend this product.
