NYX Dank Humide and STFU Hot Singles Eye Shadow Review

Nyx cosmetics are a well-known beauty brand in the makeup world. Their eye shadow range keeps dupe of many MAC eye shadows. Their packaging is also very cute, which lures you instantly. I wanted to increase my eye shadow collection, so I thought of why not going for these colorful shades. The shades I am reviewing here are called Dank Humide and STFU.

My Experience with NYX Dank Humide and STFU Hot Singles Eye Shadow:

Packaging:
The packaging consists of a black circular casing. The lid closes with a click sound and securely holds the content inside the case. The only weak point is the transparent window provided on top of the lid. It detaches itself while travelling and falls on the product, which may or may not damage the product. There is a cute bow design, where the lid closes. At the back of the packaging all the details are mentioned. The amount of the product by weight provided is 1.5 gm. No mirror or applicator is provided.

Texture:
Both the shades are matte, so no chunky shimmer/glitter. Matte finish shades are quite tricky. They can be chalky or dry. Thank God, these shades do not face the mentioned problems. They do not have serious fall out issues. Can be applied wet or dry through my experience. They can be build-up easily and blends nicely too. When the product is new, it is hard to dig in but once the first layer is removed it is easily penetrable, though the whole texture remains hard. You will not feel the smoothness when you try taking a swatch, but they do not apply in patches for sure. The best method of application, I think is, natural eye shadow application brush to pat on the product then use eye blending brush to blend the product.

Pigmentation:
As earlier said, they are matte shades still they are well pigmented. The only problem is, when you blend they sheer out a lot, so you need to build it up number of times. One more thing, I observed is that they stained my hand, when I took a swatch on my wrist and then tried to blend it out. So you have to quite fast to blend these shades.

Dank Humide is a dirty green color. It looks very pretty for fun daytime look with black eye liner and danglers. To wear this shade at night just blend it out with black eye shadow and it will be perfect smoky eyes.

STFU is a bright yellow color. It is perfect spring color. It is best suited for daytime wear.

Staying power:
Both the colors stay put on my lids for 5-6 hours. They started fading very easily but evenly. I did not use primer. Please use a primer because the color pops up more, if used with the primer. I have oily lids, so I faced the issue of creasing also (off-course without primer).
