NYX Nude Matte Covet Shadow Review

Hello Ladies,

IMBB has helped me to explore into the world of makeup and that is how I came across this brand called NYX. Being in Pune we don’t have access to Sephora, so the only thing I do now is catch hold of people coming in from USA to get me some stuff. Although we do get some NYX products online in India as well, but I have not tried that option yet.

So, todays review is about NYX Nude Matte Shadow in Covet.

This eye shadow comes in a small black eye shadow pot with a transparent lid, which makes it easy to see the eye shadow.

Claims:

Enhance your eyes with Nude Matte Shadow. The silky texture of each shadow applies and blends smoothly with the touch of your finger tips or your favorite eye shadow brush.

They also claim it to be Cruelty Free/Hypoallergenic/Lead Free.

My Experience with NYX Nude Matte Covet Shadow:

Covet is a grey green matte eye shadow. More of a pale grey with green undertone. It is soft and smooth to apply. Also, easily blendable. I haven’t noticed any fallouts. As you can see from swatches this color is not visible easily with just one swipe. To make it more prominent one has to make multiple swipes. The pigmentation is quite low. The eye shadow stays for about 3 hours without primer or eye shadow base. Also, the eye shadow is not chalky or dry. It has a smooth finishing.

Covet does not crease, but ones who have oily eye lids must make sure to use a good oil absorbent base or primer to avoid creasing. Covet makes a smooth neutral eye shadow and can be used for daily purpose either on it’s own or by blending it with a little darker shades. Covet looks much darker in the pot than it looks on the skin. This could be deceiving. It is not waterproof. It will look chalky and washed off on people with darker skin tone.

Cons of NYX Nude Matte Covet Shadow:

• Not very visible.
• Pigmentation not good.
• Will crease on oily skin.
• Low staying power.
• Not waterproof.

Would I recommend NYX Nude Matte Covet Shadow?

Not really. It is not an out of the world eye shadow. If you come across it and by any means are tempted to buy; I would suggest that you do try it out first and then make a decision. There are many other eye shadows from this range with better payoff for the money.

Would I repurchase NYX Nude Matte Covet Shadow?

No. I think I would not be able to finish this pot in my lifetime. But, would want to try more of the vibrant colors from this range.
