This review will be on my second lip pencil from NYX #816 Fuchsia. I have been lucky enough to get this under IMBB’s sponsored scheme. I have reviewed the shade “Pumpkin” from this range. The review is pretty much the same except for the color.

The lip pencil comes wrapped in a plastic covering. The body of the pencil is black in color and the cap is black too. The bottom part of the pencil is color coded and represents the shade it belongs to. The number of the pencil and its name is written on the body.

My Experience with NYX Slim SPL816 Fuchsia Lip Liner Pencil:
Fuchsia as the name suggests is a fresh fuchsia pink shade. NYX smart pencils are wooden pencils that will need sharpening to get a precise tip and line. These lip pencils do need sharpening frequently; after every 2-3 usages. These lip pencils are very creamy and soft in texture and the application is very smooth.
They glide like butter on your lips and that is probably the major reason why the tip goes blunt soon. It is advisable to exfoliate the lips as this shade could crumble on rough lips since it is very creamy.
I did not experience any tugging or pulling during application. The finish is creamy matte. It’s not moisturizing enough and would need a lip balm beneath when used as a base for any lipstick. Fuchsia actually does not look dry like “Pumpkin” and looks good even if it is used as an overall color for the lips.
The pigmentation is very good and there is not much difference in single and multiple applications.
The staying power is for around 4-5 hours, after which it fades away and leaves an outline on the lips. Also, it does not seem to bleed outside the lip line. It is definitely not waterproof but will require a makeup remover to get off completely.
I like to use a little transparent gloss over this lip pencil.

- Affordable in $$ terms.
- Availability in India ( although NYX products are available here in India too, I find them overly priced and most of the stuff is always out of stock).
