NYX Sweet Pink Matte Lipstick

I have been dying to try out NYX products ever since I became obsessed with lipsticks. Sephora was charging too much and I didn’t have a credit card so I just couldn’t do anything but wait. Meanwhile, my dad was going to Bangkok for his office tour and I thought THIS IS IT. I made a wish list of all the shades I wanted and asked my dad to get them. I got the famous lip crèmes and round lippies which have already been reviewed on the blog.

My Experience with NYX Sweet Pink Matte Lipstick :

Packaging: It has a black matte packaging with the “matte” written on the case. There is a small transparent window on the body of the lipstick where you can see the color so it is identifiable in your stash. The lipstick bullet is encased in a transparent packaging. Overall, I find it simple yet classy. I am not into all that jazz yet.

Texture: As the name indicates it is indeed a matte lipstick which comes out very pretty on the lips. It is a true matte for me and apt for summers. You might want to skip this in winters as it is drying after some time. The lipstick has a very smooth texture and does not tug. It does accentuate fine lines though.

Shade: The shade is a pink with strong mauve undertones. I was quite disappointed when I saw the shade since it didn’t look like this up for swatches on the internet. It washes me out and looks very OTT. I didn’t want those 6$ to go waste so I usually mix it with another shade to make it look better on my skin tone. It will look good on fair skin tones. Wheatish and dusky beauties stay away from this shade in Sweet pink.

Staying power: This lipstick stays for 4-5 hours which is good for a matte lipstick. It leaves a stain behind which is a good thing for me. Though it bleeds a little and transfer a bit, still this will survive snacks and a light meal.

Pigmentation: Pigmentation is awesome like all NYX products. One swipe is all you need.

4/5 despite the shade didn’t suit me.

Conclusion: You should definitely give this range a try. They have some really good shades for everyone within budget.
