O3+ Agelock Vitamin C Booster Serum Review

Today I am going to review another product from O3+ called Agelock Vitamin C Booster Serum. In my previous reviews of O3+ products – Dermal Zone Meladerm Lightening Cream and Brighten Up Tonic, I had told you all how these two products were effectively working against my skin problems. I bought this serum to speed up the process of depigmentation, to be precise. Let’s see how it fared.

My Experience with O3+ Agelock Vitamin C Booster Serum:

The serum comes in an orange glass bottle that has a glass dropper. The serum is colourless and slightly thicker than water. It has a mild smell that does not last long. As instructed, I apply it to my face after I have cleansing and toning my skin. Upon application, the serum feels like a light lubricant. It gets absorbed quickly without leaving any greasy or sticky feeling. In fact, it gets absorbed so quickly that sometimes I have to recheck if I had applied it or not. It does hydrate the skin to a limited extent which is good for humid summers, but not winters.

O3+ Agelock Vitamin C Booster Serum does not contain active form of Vitamin C i.e. L-Ascorbic Acid. Instead, it contains orange peel extracts and ascorbyl phosphate which have a greater stability than L-Ascorbic Acid. Also, Ascorbyl phosphate is milder than L Ascorbic acid, but has the same effect on the skin as the latter. Ascorbyl phosphate turns into Ascorbic acid once it is absorbed by the skin. In short, a milder and more stable product that does not oxidize and burn a hole in my pocket.

I use this serum only at night as using Vitamin C can make our skin more sensitive to harmful UV rays. Only a tiny quantity of serum is needed to cover my entire face. I follow it up with O3+ Meladerm Whitening Cream. My motive behind purchasing this serum was to effectively lighten my acne marks and it is working faster than I had expected. In one month it has lightened the marks at least by two shades! It gives my skin a bouncy and taut feeling which I think is the effect of increased collagen formation due to the application of Vitamin C.

The serum is very gentle and non irritating. Sometimes after threading my face, I get small rashes on my forehead area. This serum actually soothes that irritation. It has not caused any breakout or reactions to my dry and sensitive skin. The only problem with this serum is that I have to use it everyday. If I skip it for two or three days, the skin starts looking more dull than usual.

Please note that this serum is a little difficult to spot in the swatch as it is colorless.
