So, I went on a trip last week and the horror of all horrors! I had forgotten to pack my face wash. Now you would perhaps say who under the sun forgets to pack a face wash for a trip and I would have to raise my hands guiltily.  I am absent-minded that way. I had to get down from the train at a tiny station to look for a face wash. I rushed to the nearest stall and asked him for a face wash and somewhere from within his paan-stuffed mouth came out the question, “Olay de dun, Madam?” Not wanting to strain his red-dyed paan-munching mouth anymore than it had to, I replied in affirmative, paid him what he asked me to and rushed back to the train. It was only in the train that I realized this product was meant for dry to normal skin and I am oily-skinned. Again, I am absent-minded like that. Enough with the story-telling. Let’s get to the review.

My Experience with Olay Moisture Balance Foaming Face Wash:

The product comes in a tube, which is pretty study. It did not leak and the cap did not come undone in my bag for the entire trip. The face wash is pearly white in colour. It pretty much looks and feels like shampoo, I mean in consistency. The smell is very faint, almost negligible. I don’t know how to describe it. You know the way water tastes, this face wash smells the same way. I loved it for that. When I applied it to my wet face, I found that it lathered pretty decent, but after I washed it off with water, I felt a strange kind of sensation, the kind you feel when you wash off Dove soaps, the kind when the soap has been washed off your skin, but it feels it has not been washed off yet.

Anyway, I patted my skin dry and found that the face wash had cleaned away the dust and grime and oil.  Given the fact that it was meant for dry and normal skin, it still did not hydrate my skin anymore than it actually needed. My face, and for that matter, my hands felt squeaky clean and soft and hydrated, and my nose did not start to get shiny before three hours. I have been using it for a week now and it works fine on my oily skin as well. One thing I noticed was that it gets easy to squeeze out the white-heads after using this product. So, that is one added benefit. The fact that it is super light on the pocket is another one. All in all, a good budget product that I’d recommend to everyone.

• No smell ( I know this could easily be in the cons list of someone but in my review it is a pro).
