Olay Regenerist Revitalising Serum Review

Hello Everyone,

Bringing in the review of Revitalising Serum from the Regenerist Range by Olay. I have stayed away from Olay for a pretty long time, for no particular reason, but when I spotted this I wanted to give this a try. Here is how this fared for my oily-combination skin.

Price – Rs 1399/- for 50ml

Product Description:

Olay Regenerist offers advanced appearance correcting anti ageing skin care products that help regenerate skin’s appearance without drastic measures. Formulated with an exclusive Olay amino-peptide + B3 complex, Regenerist incorporates other proven anti ageing ingredients such as vitamin E, pro-vitamin B5, green tea extract, allantoin and glycerin. Regenerist renews skin’s outer layer one cell at a time, helps regenerate its appearance quickly, and strengthens its moisture barrier.

My Experience with Olay Regenerist Revitalising Serum:

The packaging is simple and functional as you can see. The whole range is colored black and red and this is no exception. The plastic bottle is such that the product inside is not visible, so keeping track of the product quantity is difficult. The pump works fine and the quantity dispensed each time can be controlled. Lot of information is mentioned on the outer paper carton. Overall a steady simple packaging which serves the purpose and being light, is easy to travel with.

The texture is smooth and spreads really well on application. A little goes a long way and hence only a small drop of the product is enough for the full face. There is no sticky feel to the skin which is good when it comes to a serum. The only glitch that I have with the texture is the silicone-feel to the face. I like my serum to be lightweight and get absorbed making the skin hydrated and plump.

4

Coming to the effectiveness of the product, I was not able to form an opinion on this easily. As much as I like lightweight, watery serums, this one could not be ignored due to the smooth calming texture. The silicone feel on the skin is not comfortable but after a while the feel subsides and the skin starts feeling light. There is a long lasting effect on the skin and that is best felt when kept overnight.

Due to the ultra-smooth texture, this can be used as a primer before makeup and that way the makeup glides better on the skin. Also the makeup stays longer with the serum as the base. As this can be used both day and night, I am wearing it more as a primer than a night serum. I have a lovely night serum in store(review coming up shortly). As an overall view, I would say this works good as a base, not a great night time rich serum. So this can be skipped as I have not noticed any huge change in my skin with this as a serum.

Pros of Olay Regenerist Revitalising Serum:

• Nice packaging.
• Detailed information.
• No funny smell.
• Works good as a primer.
• Availability.

Cons of Olay Regenerist Revitalising Serum:

• Expensive.
• Silicone feel.
• Slightly heavy on the skin.
• Takes a while to get absorbed.

IMBB Rating: 3.5/5

Would I Repurchase/Recommend Olay Regenerist Revitalising Serum?

I would not repurchase this as I am not fond of the heavy feel on the skin. Also it did not show visible results. If you like trying out new stuff, go ahead.
