Ole Henriksen African Red Tea Foaming Cleanser Review

Ole Henriksen African Red Tea Foaming Cleanser Review

Hello everyone,

Recently, I reviewed the Clarisonic cashmere brush, which I have been using with the Philosophy Purity Cleanser, it was working great. I had to rush back to Sephora to look for a new cleanser as the Philosophy one got over and done with. This time a very sweet SA helped me and she suggested Ole Henriksen African Red Tea Foaming Cleanser. According to her, this is a highly sought-after cleanser and it works great with the Clarisonic. I was very apprehensive about buying it as I am not a fan of foam cleansers, but I still went with her suggestion as the she looked like someone who knew what she was doing. I went with the smaller size bottle to try it out. Here I am with my views on it.

My Experience with Ole Henriksen African Red Tea Foaming Cleanser:

Ole Henriksen brand has this line of products that contain African Red Tea. African Red Tea aka Rooibos tea is a naturally caffeine free tea that contains powerful antioxidants that protect the body and skin by fighting the free radicals. It has been used since ages for various medicinal uses in the tribes of South Africa, but it has been recently discovered to be beneficial for the skin in improving acne and other skin conditions like psoriasis and eczema.

As I already mentioned, I do not fancy foam cleansers, but this one was a pleasant surprise. The pump works well and dispenses perfect foam every time. I love its citrusy scent; it actually smells like if my tea was infused with orange. I find it very pleasant to use in the mornings, wakes up my senses. I use two pumps on my wet face and massage it for a few minutes before rinsing. It leaves my skin absolutely clean and fresh. After wiping the face, my skin does not feel as tight, convincing me that this does not strip all the oils from my skin. I don’t need to use any additional makeup remover; this cleanser removes all my makeup barring the waterproof mascara. After cleansing when I wipe my face with the cotton pad soaked in the toner, I see a clean cotton pad without any residue of dirt or makeup.

I have been using this lightweight cleanser every morning with my Clarisonic and this combination is working well in cleaning my pores. As I have to deal with oily and acne prone skin, I always gravitated towards products with harsh anti-acne ingredients, but that is not the case anymore. I am trying out and liking simple natural products too. It was a nice change to use a cleanser without any harsh chemicals, just natural goodness. I am definitely enjoying this favorable change. I still deal with acne but I feel this cleanser definitely helps in soothing the inflammation. My skin looks well hydrated and feels soft. It definitely evens out my skin tone, no more dry and flaky patches and I am guessing the credit here should go to the vitamin C that this contains. I am absolutely sticking to this cleanser and will be trying out more products from this line. I am happy to start my days with radiant skin.

    1. Hi Neetu
It does help calm down my acne. It works great at cleaning out the pores but in past few weeks I did not see the size of the pores reducing but as it has vitamin c i hope overtime it will be helpful for that.
