I have another nail lacquer review for all of you today and it is again by dear old OPI. This one is in the shade called “Deer Valley Spice” and for some reason, the name reminds me of Christmas, is it the deer or the spice? I have no clue. Anyway, let me tell you all, about my views on this fun colour.

My Experience with OPI Nail Lacquer – Deer Valley Spice:

This beautiful and vibrant red colour comes in OPI’s standard packaging, with a black brush applicator and a glass bottle. Like I mentioned in my OPI Pamplona Purple review, I am a big fan of their brushes, because of how comfortably they feel in my hands, when I sit and apply the colours on my hand.

So the colour is a gorgeous cherry red, with pink diamond dust in the formula. This creates the perfect shimmery look on the nails. The colour looks bright red in direct sunlight, and at home or indoors, it would look like slightly pink. Remember how I said the name reminds me of Christmas, guess it is a bright red too. However, with OPI, it always seems as though, I can achieve similar looking colours with different brands. That is one thing, that is a bit annoying for me, I am totally honest. Nonetheless, it is a great vibrant colour, it would look gorgeous on all skin tones, as I feel the colour compliments every skin tone.

The finish of this nail paint is slightly frosty, has a beautiful shimmer to it. The formula however, I found, was similar to the OPI Pamplona Purple. It was runny upon application and I had to be really careful, in order for it not to bleed into my cuticles. It was smooth to apply on my nails, I did not have to constantly dip my brush into the bottle to achieve more colour. And moreover, I got a pretty colour with just one coat, however, it’s best to apply 2 coats since it would create a more complete sort of opaque look. I think this colour would look great all year round, it should not be just saved for the summers. It would look great during fall or during the winter months!

Like all OPI nail lacquers, this too has a relatively good staying power. But with this one, I did find my tips chipping off pretty easily by the 3rd or 4th day, which was a bit irritating for me. I would recommend you wearing a base coat with this nail paint, because of its slightly shimmery finish.

Pros of OPI Nail Lacquer – Deer Valley Spice:

• A gorgeous cherry pink colour with pink shimmer undertones.
• Quick drying formula, does not get irritating to wait around.
• One coat is enough for a pretty colour, but two coats would help you achieve the colour in its full glory.
• Good quality packaging, which is also very classy and durable.
• Can be worn all year round.
• Would compliment all skin tones.
• DBP-toluene-formaldehyde free formula.

Cons of OPI Nail Lacquer – Deer Valley Spice:

• The formula is runny upon application.
• Chipped on the third day from the edges.
• Availability is an issue, you need to really dig deep to find this colour. I somehow did some research and found some in a Boots far away from home.

Would I Repurchase OPI Nail Lacquer – Deer Valley Spice?

Probably not, I have many similar colours to this, so it would be a no from my end.
