OPI Nail Lacquer – Lucky Lucky Lavender Review

Hello everyone,

Hope all of you are doing fine! We are enjoying spring/summer.  Summer calls for pastel outfits and nail shades. It’s also about water dance and water parks; however, it’s still only in my dreams yet courtesy the chilly winds. I am certainly enjoying pastel shades and I am here today to share one such favorite pastel shade from my new collection from OPI.  So, please read on further to know more about OPI’s Lucky Lucky Lavender.

My Experience with OPI Nail Lacquer – Lucky Lucky Lavender:

Well, as the name suggests, it’s my lucky lavender shade, which totally compliments my pale skin and enhances my natural skin tone. Lucky Lucky Lavender seems a perfect blend of pink and purple to make it a pinkish lavender on my nails unlike its true lavender shade which you see in the bottle.  I notice a slight hue of purple with pink finish on my nails which is gorgeous and brightens up my skin tone unlike other lavender shades.  This is the only lavender pink in my stash and I am loving it like anything, though it is a bit runny and streaky, like any other pastel shade, but never mind, it goes on smooth and even in two swipes.

This particular nail lacquer is slightly runny yet thick enough to give a buildable color payoff in two swipes, it might turn streaky sometimes, but it can be worked upon with a second stroke which gives a smooth and glossy finish on the nails. This shade is similar to my previous OPI lavender shade; however, they both turn out to be totally different on my nails and I love this pinkish purple shade much more than the previous milky lavender one. I also love OPI nail paints for their glossy, smooth finish which stays intact for 1-2 week with the exception of a few shades.  This particular shade managed to stay for good 6-7 days on my nails without chipping or peeling off and even the glossy satin finish was intact, isn’t that amazing?

I believe this pink purple shade will compliment many Indian skin tones for it has more pink tones than purple which makes it ideal for any skin tone.  I don’t think this lavender will ever warm down my skin tone, but yes, lavender lovers are going to be slightly disappointed because it looks more pink on nails!

The most important thing is that it does not leave any yellow/pale stain behind like other nail paints.  And yes,
that yellow stain certainly looks embarrassing, especially if you wish to flaunt bare nails.  I usually wear nail paints for a week or two and try to take a break of 3-4 days before trying another shade. Moreover, I did read that we should always take break from nail paints and keep our nails bare for a certain period of time, it helps in keeping them healthy and to maintain the natural pink glow for a long time.

However, I always get pink nails after removing OPI nail lacquers hence I tend to favor the brand OPI over other brands because I love to flaunt bare nails.  Overall, I highly recommend this beautiful nail paint to all of you, it’s a must-have shade.  I am definitely getting it again as I know I will finish it off quickly.

Let’s sum up pros and cons:

Pros of OPI Nail Lacquer – Lucky Lucky Lavender:

  • A gorgeous creamy yet runny, shimmer-free pink-purple shade.
  • Compliments my skin tone really well, in fact it enhances my pale skin tone.
  • It is easily buildable in just two strokes without any goopy or streaky effect.
  • It has the perfect consistency to give opaque glossy finish in a few strokes.
  • I just need a second swipe for even and glossy finish.
  • Stays for good 6-7 days on my nails without chipping or peeling off.
  • The glossy finish also stays intact as long as the nail paint.
  • Does not leave any yellow stain or patch behind.
  • I observe absolutely healthy and natural pink nails once I remove the nail paint.
  • User friendly, travel friendly and formaldehyde, DBP, and toulene free packaging.

Cons of OPI Nail Lacquer – Lucky Lucky Lavender:

  • It might give streaky finish in first swipe sometimes and hence we need at least two swipes to get a smooth, even and glossy finish.
  • Might wear off early with multiple swipes though that’s rare as it’s easily buildable in two swipes.

Well, I don’t think I have any big issue with this pinkish purple shade other than a few minor concerns which can be avoided once we get used to such pastel shades.  I love love love it and have already purchased its back up bottle for future.
