OraLabs Chap Ice Tropical Lip Balm with SPF 30 Review

Greetings my pretty peeps!
So now that I am getting time to write for you all, I will be doing back-to-back reviews of some products I used in the past weeks. One such product which I am currently loving a lot is a new lip balm from Chap Ice. It is the Chap Ice lip balm with SPF. Chap Ice lip balms are quite effective and economical, and this little beauty boasted of SPF 30, so I just had to lay my hands on this one. Let’s jump to the review now!

My Experience with OraLabs Chap Ice Tropical Lip Balm with SPF 30:

Packaging: The lip balm comes in a stick form, which is quite small and fits easily even in jeans pockets. The retractable packaging is green and white in color, and has the details mentioned clearly. The packaging screams summer!

Lip balms are a basic necessity for all seasons. In summers, though I do not have chapped lips I like some moisturization on my lips, especially for using matte lipsticks. My search for a lightweight, hydrating lip balm ended with this.
balm
The balm is pale yellow or cream colored. The texture isn’t very soft, in fact feels like paraffin wax. But it glides very smoothly on lips, without any tugging or pulling. There is no residue left on lips, which was what shocked me! Normally lip balms coat your lips with a layer, and you can distinctly feel it. But not this one, it feels like nothing, and yet there is no dryness!
label
The lightweight, comfortable hydration is amazing and perfect for summery days, when you want to play up your puckers in bold colors. The SPF 30 (great for a lip balm, right?) offers sun protection.
There is no whitish cast left on lips, neither is there any tint. It goes on sheer on lips, but doesn’t give any intensive healing. So those with chapped lips can’t substitute this for their nourishing lip butters or balms, but it is good for normal lips, and for day time wear. The softness stays for around 5 hours.

The lip balm smells like a delicious concoction of fruits, but mellows down on lips. There is no taste whatsoever.
I might get a back-up of this; my lipsticks seem much more comfortable with this underneath.
