Organix Kukui Oil Conditioner Review

Hello everyone,

This review is on an Organix Kukui Oil Conditioner . With few hits and misses, I have developed a liking for their products.

About OGX Kukui Oil Conditioner

Nature’s miracle? An ancient Hawaiian secret? It’s a little bit of both. This indulgent blend of kukui nut oil gives your tresses an incredibly glossy and smooth good-hair day.

My take on Organix Kukui Oil Conditioner :

I am not someone who changes shampoos frequently but I do love trying out different conditioners, masks, and so forth. And anything that says, “for frizzy hair, or curls, waves” usually catches my attention. I have long, wavy, with some loose curls, dry hair, very much prone to frizz (which equals candyfloss-like puffed up hair if not tamed!). So for me, deep conditioning always works.

This is a quite thick conditioner. The texture is really very smooth (silk smooth). It spreads easily on the hair, giving you that buttery slip (I guess it is part because of the dimethicone present). But I am not complaining as I am not fond of conditioners that you actually have to rub on your hair to get melted and spread; they kind of get stuck! It happened to me once!

I usually keep the conditioner for 3-5 minutes, and if deep conditioning using the same, then even more (maybe 15 minutes). But those 3-5 minutes are enough for my dry ends. The conditioner washes out easily, without leaving any silicone feeling, which I absolutely love!

Also, it does not weigh down your hair, another plus. I was really doubtful of this, thinking that the oil in it will play the spoilsport, but I was so wrong. Actually it happened with me when I used Dove oil-care conditioner. I mean I just loved it but it made my hair flat the very next day of washing . The OGX one leaves your hair smooth, hydrated but not oily. I also notice that it does make your hair shinier, which is surprising as I was not expecting it! But who doesn’t love glossy hair?

Now about the de-frizz part, I think this is not the weather when you complain about humidity and the resulting frizz. So honestly, I can’t comment on that. I believe that the real test would be during the summers and the rains. But right now, my hair loves this conditioner as it does help in managing the flyaway.

Now something that just takes me to the seventh heaven! The fragrance!! If I have to describe it in one word, I would say, “exotic.” I mean it is heavenly, seriously. I have never been to Hawaii, but if this is the fragrance I can associate with it, I think I am already in love with the place! Overall, I think I am going to stick with this conditioner for the next few months!

What I loved about Organix Kukui Oil Conditioner :

  • Absolutely hydrating.
  • Gives shine to the hair.
  • Doesn’t weigh down the hair.
  • Smooth texture; spreads and washes out easily.
  • Helps with flyaways.
  • Smells amazing!
  • Huge quantity at this price.
  • Widely available, if not in a store near you, then online.

What I didn’t love much about Organix Kukui Oil Conditioner :

Only one size available.
