ORIFLAME DUO CORE FOUNDATION REVIEW
Whoever said creamy foundation ain’t for oily skinned people should try for once the duo core foundation by Oriflame. It has almost become my HG foundation with perfect skin tone match and sheer to medium coverage without breaking me out. I love it and am using it on a daily basis without looking ghostly or scary. Here’s the review.
WHAT THE CATALOGUE SAYS ABOUT DUO CORE FOUNDATION:
Creamy stick foundation which blends in flawlessly and sets to a medium coverage, powder finish without clogging pores. Dual core technology combines perfect cover with nourishing ingredients in a handy stick – ideal for precise application. 10 g.
PRICE: Rs. 650 originally, but there was on offer + discount from Pooja, and I got it at Rs. 311.
MY TAKE ON ORIFLAME DUO CORE FOUNDATION:
Oriflame foundation comes in 5 different shades, Porcelain, Natural Ivory, Natural Beige, Sand, and Honey Amber. I chose the Honey Amber shade from the catalogue and it is bang on matching with my skin tone. This 10 g foundation comes in a retractable stick form, which upon a few roll ins and roll outs tends to become messy, spreading on to the sides of the foundation stick. This is the only flaw of this foundation stick that I can think about.
Please note that I hadn’t done adequate moisturization on my hand before blending in, that’s why there is a little bit dry finish on the wrist.
Before dotting the foundation on the face, I thoroughly moisturize my face and neck with either Clean and Clear oil-free moisturizer or the Oriflame Fairness lotion. When I blend the dots in a downward direction, I can see that it blends in perfectly to give a sheer to medium coverage without making the face cakey or ashy. It does not give any dewy finish, but rather powdery kind of finish. The foundation is completely lightweight and does not wear off for a good 5 to 6 hours. When I set in with a compact or loose powder, it stays the longest and all I have to do is do touch ups throughout the day.
Although, I am using moisturization underneath the foundation currently, I think this step can be skipped altogether for people with oily skin in the summer months.
Also, I did the cardinal sin of sleeping with the foundation and surprisingly, it didn’t break me out, which proves that it is non-clog blocking, so oily skinnies, rejoice.
Overall, I am very happy with this foundation and will continue to use it throughout the year.
PROS OF ORIFLAME DUO CORE FOUNDATION:
- Extremely lightweight, which will not make the face heavy.
- Does not break out the skin, I tested it by going to sleep wearing the foundation.
- Creamy foundation that when blended gives a powdery finish.
- Sheer to medium coverage, which is suitable for both day and evening use.
- Stays put with a compact for over 5 to 6 hours.
- Moisturization step can be skipped altogether in summer.
There was a white creamy core in the middle of the stick.
CONS OF ORIFLAME DUO CORE FOUNDATION:
- I cannot really think of any flaw in this one except may be the fact that the sides of the stick becomes messy after a while retracting the stick.
- May be the price is a bit on the high side, but with offers every other month, one just needs to have patience to get it at the right price.
WILL I REPURCHASE IT: YES, I am waiting for the price to be slashed down.
