Oriflame Beauty Peel Off Whitener
I observed that regular usage of bright colored nail paints which are highly pigmented results in my nails losing their natural shine & turning yellow or getting stained. So I did a little research & found out that some nails paints have Big3 components in their composition which make our nails appear yellow.
The Big3 components are Toluene, Formaldehyde & Dibutyl Phtalate.
Tips to prevent yellow nails
(i) Always use a base coat.
(ii) Use nail paints that don’t have the Big3 components( One such brand I know is Lotus)
(iii) Wear gloves while doing the house-hold chores.
(iv) Avoid smoking.
Now there are lots of methods that you could try to get rid of the yellowy color. These include
(i) Soaking nails in a solution of baking soda & lemon.
(ii) Mild scrubbing of nails with toothpaste using a toothbrush.
(iii) Using nail whitening tablets. The tablets have to be dropped in a bowl of warm water & one has to soak their hands for atleast 10 min.
I haven’t seen these whitening tablets in India & I’m too lazy to try the other two methods so when I saw this Oriflame Peel Off whitener, I decided to give it a try.

My Experience: The peel off whitener comes in a sturdy transparent bottle & the brush glides smoothly on the nails. This whitener has to be applied like a regular nail polish & after a few seconds it dries, so you need to start pulling the white layer like a face peel off mask. The peel off layer comes off very easily & it’s so much fun to apply & peel it off. I went to the Oriflame office along with my Fiance to get the products & after we came back home he opened the bottle & said “Yeh kya hai ? fevicol jaisi smell aarahi hai( Translation: What is this, it smells like fevicol), so that’s how the product smells but I have no issues with that. There are no instructions on the bottle about the number of times it has to be applied & for how long the peel off layer has to be there on the nails. The only thing that is mentioned in the catalogue & the website is that it has to be used once a day for at least 3 days. Every time after I take off the layer I find the nails dry, so one has to make sure that they apply a good hand cream after using the peel off whitener. I’m not going to exaggerate & say that this peel off whitener has brought a miraculous change in the appearance of my nails ;-) But yes, this peel off whitener is definitely improving the appearance of my nails.
Pros of the Oriflame Peel off Whitener:
- Regular application will bring a gradual change in the appearance of the nails.
- Comes in a small sturdy bottle, can be carried in a bag.
- Reasonably priced at Rs.169 for 7ml.( Some people may find this expensive but this will last for a while so I guess it’s worth the buy)
- A little goes a long way.
- No irritation or discomfort experienced.
Cons of the Oriflame Peel off Whitener:
- After the whole peel off process, I find the nails dry. So as soon as you are done with the application & removal, make sure you moisturise your hands well.
- Some people may not like the fevicol kind of smell.
Will I repurchase this? Yes definitely.
Will I recommend this? Yes I will, but one has to have patience to see the results. Please don’t expect instant results. Also, I suggest college going girls to get it to pass off time during a boring lecture ;-) It’s fun to apply & peel it off.
