Outfit of the Day: Recycled Anarkali Suit

Hi everyone,

How are you all? πŸ™‚ Β I came back from an amazinggg vacation at Leh-Ladakh! πŸ™ Withdrawal symptoms, you see!!!

Pink Anarkali Suit

Coming to the post, I look forward to weddings every year, but now, I have reached an age where many people from my friend circle have already begun with their wedding preparations, making me even more excited to play all ethnic dress-up!

Pink Anarkali Suit

So, I wore this outfit for an engagement a few days back and with this post I bring you tips about re-using and recycling your ethnic outfit!

Pink Anarkali Suit

I am one of those people who rarely likes to repeat an ethnic attire. Either I shop for a new one or wear it in such a way that it looks like one! This outfit was a lehenga that was bought last year, and I was upset about having nothing to wear for the coming occasion. That’s when my best friend suggested me to get an anarkali made out of it.

And tadaaa.. . I got a completely new outfit. Trust me, I love this more than the lehenga!Β Paired this outfit with these alluring pearl drop chandbaalis, and just two bangles!

For hair, I did a quick bun and coiled a jasmine gajra over it! πŸ˜€

  1. Beautiful Garvita, simply beautiful. I am like you only, I don’t like to repeat my ethnic attire either! This is a cool trick. I tries ti do the same with my lehanga from my sister’s wedding a year ago or so, but my lehanga’s bottom had a very heavy border which made it sooooo heavy, that I couldn’t wear it as an anarkali.. Since then I go for lehangas which don’t have a very heavy border πŸ˜€

  2. Even my sister has converted two of her lehengas into anarkalis, they look so good and just like new. You look really good in both Indian and western outfits. Love your earrings and gajra. πŸ˜€

  3. I lovd d pic with d chunni on ur face…. Sooo pretty…. I wait for ur n ratis ootds…. U guys r superrrrr stylish…..i miss atikas ootd…. Whr is she???

    1. Amrutaa thank you so much πŸ™‚ I miss Atika too. I have no idea where she is. May be on a break. πŸ™‚

      1. Nice post Garvita.. and yeah.. even I wonder about Atika’s absence from IMBB these days.. miss her OOTDs.. she also had a very distinct fashion style..

  4. You look beautiful Garvita… even I am planning to get my lehenga converted into an anarkali suit or may be a long suit with pants. It is still on my to-do list as that is my wedding lehenga, and I am always ambivalent about its conversion πŸ™ You know how you get emotional about somethings even when you know they won’t be used anymore.

    1. Aawwh Shailja, I can totally understand your emotions attached with the wedding lehenga. And it’s almost hit and trial. Give it a shot with your most trusted boutique. πŸ™‚ Good luck love!

  5. You look gorgeous… What a lovely outfit and you look so very pretty.. Love wearing pink for a wedding occasion..

  6. Oh mY God! I love your anarkali!!!! I have few lehengas with me that I have not used in years. You’ve given me such a great idea!!!! how did you go about it? I need a nice tailor first.

    1. After my best friend came up with this idea. I just went for it ! πŸ˜€ yeah make sure he is your trusted tailor. Risk is involved na. πŸ™‚
