Patanjali Tejus Anti Wrinkle Cream

Patanjali Tejas antiwrinkle cream

Patanjali and Baba Ramdev are household names today. Thanks to Baba Ramdevji for encouraging the healthier and natural ways of life. Not that yoga and ayurveda are new-found remedies for us, but Baba Ramdev has certainly approached them in such a way that more and more young people are looking up to these ways of life.

They conduct the yoga healing camps in all the corners of India. Fortunately, when I was in India last time, I got to attend one such camp. How I feel about the camp and what I learnt is another story, but another good thing was many of us could get our hands on their products, which otherwise are not available easily. Some things that I picked up were aloe vera gel, Kesh Kanti hair cleanser (liked it very much by the way, but it has finished, so can’t do the review), few soaps and Tejus anti-wrinkle cream, which I’m reviewing today.

What the Product Says?

It says “Tejus Anti-Wrinkle Cream – Helps in removing unwanted spots and wrinkles.” Short and sweet description, isn’t it?

Presentation:

It is a screw-cap tube of 50 gm cream, packed in a simple box carton. The cream looks exactly like Fuller’s Earth (Multani Mitti) when made as a face pack, only more creamy and greasy.

Price:

Patanjali products are quite costly. I don’t remember the exact cost of this one, but I paid somewhere between Rs. 230 to 270.

Directions:

Strangely enough, the directions are printed only in Hindi. I hope they make different packs for exporting with the directions in English. Translation in English – 5 to 10 gm to be massaged daily on the face, neck and hands, morning and evening. It is an ‘Ayurvedic Proprietery Medicine’

Ingredients:

A long list of active ingredients, printed in both Hindi and English. Package doesn’t explain how different ingredients help in the claimed actions. I am always interested in these facts, but it is okay as most of the ingredients are pretty well known.

Ingredients of Patanjali anti wrinkle cream

1. Aloe vera.
2. Oils of – Wheat, jojoba, sandal, almond and Buchnania (hindi-Chiraungi oil).
3. Extracts of – cucumber, manjistha, red sandalwood, turmeric.
4. Pulps of – papaya, banana.
5. Powder of masoor dal.
6. Base material (no base contents listed).

My Opinion about Patanjali Tejus Anti-Wrinkle Cream:

I don’t know why I picked up the anti-wrinkle cream in the first place. Fortunately, I am quite far away from the skin ageing worries, not all is bad with the oily skin, my friends, we are less prone to premature wrinkles. Let this fact ease your worries about the acne and scars.

I think I was just on a rampage of buying Patanjali stuff not knowing when I’ll get them in my town again. When I came home and looked at the ingredients of this cream, bought for around Rs. 250, I surely had a buyer’s remorse. All those oils couldn’t possibly do any good for my greasy skin, but since it was winter, I braved to give it a try considering that the weather was in my favour and at the worst, this cream would just prove to be extra moisturizing for me. In that case, I would have used it only for my hands.

When I tried it, the first thing that hit me was its intense scent. Its too aromatic. I quite liked the smell, but it was very strong and lingered on for almost half a day, that got on my nerves after some point.

Other than that, I’m quite pleased with it. It is a little thicker in consistency and does not spread evenly. It gets absorbed in a second without having to massage too much. I put a drop of water to make it more spreadable. Thankfully, it didn’t break me out nor made my face oily. On touch, I can feel some creaminess on my skin, but to the look, it is not oily or shiny. In fact, in winters, it gives me a matte moisturizing look. Skin feels moisturized for a long time. I won’t dare to try it in the summers though.

As to the anti-wrinkle test, I am not a fit candidate and probably it has to be used consistently for a long time.

Pros of Patanjali Tejus Anti Wrinkle Cream

1. Its an ayurvedic proprietary medicine and has therapeutical properties.
2. Impressive ingredients.
3. Absorbed in the skin easily.
4. Didn’t cause me to break out.
5. Provides moisture for the longest time.
6. Suitable for oily skin, at least in dry climates.
7. Quantity is good enough if used only for face and neck
8. Feels greasy to touch, but not shiny.

Cons of Patanjali Tejus Anti Wrinkle Cream

1. Contains a lot of oils.
2. Does not mention the skin type.
3. Not easily spreadable, so saturates on some areas where it is not spread properly.
4. Artificial smell that is too strong and stays on for a long time.
5. Screw-cap tube is prone to contamination.
6. Quantity not enough if used on hands too.
7. Costly and not easily available.
8. Skin feels greasy to touch.

Would I Repurchase?

Yes and anything that doesn’t make me break out is worth another try for me. This cream hasn’t even half-failed on its performance of moisturizing the oily skin. I would use it only at night and in dry weather.

Do I Recommend Patanjali Tejus Anti-Wrinkle Cream?

Yes, it is worth a try for everybody, maybe even very good for dry skins. Don’t count on its anti-wrinkle properties though.

  1. i hv also used it….m also n oily skinned gurl…yeah it does get absorbed easily wid no greasiness at all….it actually brightens up d skin instantaneously..i preferred 2 use it for my hands though coz it was summers wen i bought it..

  2. Very Very good review. I think I’ll pick it up after my night cream finishes. Sounds like a good product. I’ve also been eying the kesh kanti cleanser :pigtail: after Flygirl reviewd it but am yet to pick it up….lazy me

  3. I too am far away from anti wrinkle creams..infact anti ageing or anti wrinkle cream never work for me 🙁 i’ll ski this right now as its not needed to my much oily and combi skin..but it does sound a nice cream  :thanks: for the review 🙂

    1. no parita, don’t consider it as an anti-wrinkle cream….it might b just a good overnight repair cream for the oily skin in winters. I hav extremely oil skin n it worked for me.
      try it! :waytogo: :waytogo:

  4. nice review :waytogo: :waytogo:
but i loved the zebra behind …so cute
i also want that … :waaa: :waaa:

  5. Unrelated but – OMG! Where is that zebra from? So cute!
As for this cream, my mum has tried it. She has super dry skin and she loves it for its moisturising value. However, it’s pretty ineffectual for wrinkles. But then, maybe it helps in delaying their onset, not in their reduction.

    1. yup, i cant rely on its wrinkle claim too……actually once the wrinkles set in, only lasers and botox can get rid of them….creams may work in preventing them.

       Ain’t he cute!!
Rati inspired me to take better pics….otherwise it was so damn boring for me to click dead things 😉 😉
      thankoo rati!

    1. normal skin will love it evn more than dry skin. My oily skin didn’t have any complaints too. Its ok for all types Nidhi!

    1. :smug: :smug: O:) O:) O:) 😯 😯 😯 how commmmme?
Did they charge more coz they moved their stocks everywhere with the camps, god knows! ?:) :struggle: :struggle:

    1. no vaishnavi, i don’t think it works for acne, just that it won’t worsen the acne situation too…..IMO. But its better to not use it if she already has breakouts. It might work on healing the scars.

    2. i m agree with reema , becoz Patanjali products are healthy & every products of patanjali is at reasonable price ..very few products are costly due to their best quality & ingredients…..
i m using almost every food & beauty products & it is 99% better than products available at mkt.

  6. my neighbor was just telling me about this yesterday… she had used it & liked it too.. i too felt a chg on her within 3-4 days of its use only as she does not use any other skin care as of now.. so i think this does work and can be given a try.. bass i need to get to the shop.. 😐 😐
    nice writeup

  7. equal no of pros and cons. 😛 😛 Did it help in reducing any spots or anything or may be doing something better to your skin’s texture? I can imagine how difficult it must be to find moisturiser for oily skin. Always find people confused about that. :((

    1. yeah, but there r less cons about its efficacy, n more abt quantity, price etc. so actually its a pretty good prod.

Will have to use it consistently to see the effect on spots, but i hav hard time being loyal to d prods   . about the skin texture, yes yes yes….extremely supple, not shiny n bright for sure. N i think it makes my pores shrink…or donno mayb i’m imagining or mayb the cream gets saturated in the pores n makes the skin look even….not sure what exactly but it sure looks fresher.

  8. geeta..
i think u have misunderstud something about price of patnajali products.
the price is 150 rs for 50 grms cream.please make a correction.
and patanjali sells product at lowest price in market.

their ayurvedic medicines , food products , oil n cosmetics r sold at lower price than that of other companies.

they sell aloe vera juice at 180 rs n other companies not less than 500 rs.

only the price of sugar is more bcoz it is natural brown sugar.

i have started using pantajali products bcoz, i had some health products after using some other companies adulterated products…..the products r safe to use.

  9. I bought the Patanjali anti wrinkle cream for Rs 150 . I am in my late 40’s & have just started using the cream. It is very smooth , easily absorbing & gives an instant shine to the face . Very impressed . Not sure about its long term effects but the feel is really great . No greasiness & no sweat on application !!
