Paul Mitchell Softstyle The Shine Spray On Polish Review

I am not much of a hair styling person, but I like trying stuff which claims to tame frizz and nourish my hair. I picked this bottle a while back, but completely forgot to use this; sounds foolish, I know. But when I started with it, there was no stopping. Not that I use every single day but the “pampering hair days” do not miss this.

My Experience with Paul Mitchell Softstyle The Shine Spray On Polish:

The packaging is a simple white plastic bottle with a transparent cap which protects the nozzle. The information regarding the product is mentioned including the ingredients. The nozzle is a sturdy powerful one and gives diffused application which ensures the product spreads well.  It’s quite light and travel friendly I must say.

It has a transparent, water-like texture with a wonderful smell. The smell is typical salon-like fresh and the fragrance lingers for a while. On initial application, the product might seem a bit oily like a lightweight serum, but on settling for a while, the oiliness gives way to smooth tamed hair.

This can be used as a finishing spray if you like doing simple hairstyles for everyday. Though it does not have and holding power, but the instant shine that it gives is awesome. The quantity that is to be used each time is slightly tricky in the beginning.  I mostly overdid it, but now that I am halfway through the bottle, I have managed to spray the required amount.

People with fly-aways will find this spray extremely handy and the smoothness that comes along is a bonus. One word of caution would be to keep the application limited to the hair length only. If sprayed on to the scalp, it will lead to limp, oily, and flattened hair. For my shoulder length hair, 4-5 sprays are enough for a natural look. If you are going for elaborate styling, you might need a bit more to get “The Shine.”

There is no long-term benefit of the product, unless you are using it with the whole range of Paul Mitchell. The shine effect lasts only till the next shower, so do not expect this to work like a treatment for the frizz and fly-aways.

Overall, I like this product for occasional use and will limit my usage to parties and functions. This is not a part of my everyday hair care routine, so this expensive bottle of shine will last me a pretty long time.
